Vinny and Silva are key.

We may probably still struggle to get a victory st Anfield with them, but I feel it almost a certain that we won’t collapse like we did in January with them both on the pitch for us this time around.

The defeat at Anfield was without Dave and they had a whole week to prepare, whilst we had a League Cup SF that week.
They will get their arses handed to them this time around.

Not sure the League Cup semi is really a valid excuse, as only 5 of that team started at Anfield. Silva’s absence was clearly key though. Our record when him and De Bruyne start together is amazing, something like 25 wins and one draw in the last 26 I think.

Imagine if we win 3-0, we will be bombarded by all and sundry in the press screaming about how they come back from similar in Istanbul

I'd love to win but we just don't at Klanfield. Mental block? Whatever it just doesn't happen.

Its over two legs and that is the reason we should be confident of getting through to the semi finals at least.

I would prefer to be home first but its probably incidental and the mental strength of this group is all what its about.

This was lacking to some degree under the previous two managers and one of the reasons why Pep is regarded as one of the world's best in his time to date.

You could argue are squad is better now but would you can't argue against is the mental fortitude the squad has now.

This was best demonstrated at Liverpool and while not ideal a one goal deficit going into the second leg should be sufficient to see us through.

Manure showed how easy it was to mark Salah out of the game and Crystal Place bar one lapse in concentration showed how easy it is to mark him out of the game,

They have a good set up in the forward half but its not world class by any means and provided we play to our best and level we have been for all the season we will come through.
They're not going to change what comes natural to them - running hard at us in spells. We'll have most of the ball, but when they attack us (like no other team has) I'm certain that we'll be winning the ball and getting to their box rapidly and taking advantage of their stretched shape. Lovren joined Liverpool with a good reputation for club and country, but he's made mistakes in big games - commits to challenges and doesn't always quite get there. Karius makes his defence nervous. We need to take advantage !!

Btw - Karius was on our books nine years or so ago. Joe mentored him to an extent - and Joe was only a kid himself.

I posted in another thread I had a dream about this game but only the last 5 mins plus injury time which was also 5 mins their keeper sliced the ball into his own net to make it 2-1 to us,my son turns to me after it’s over and says shame about the three penalty misses,I never bet on us as I always think I am putting a hex on us,but this time I am convinced it will be 2-1 so will be putting some money on it..

We were so good against Everton, that I actually wanted us to have more of a struggle !! Crazy thought I know. I'd rather save the perfection for a more important game !!!

If we have fifteen - twenty proper shots with a good proportion on target, Karius will not be able to cope. Liverpool are pinning everything on Salah who is freakishly physically strong, has good technique, and is an adept finisher but he does not have scary pace. Cut off the supply !!
