Whichever team doesn’t play very well will lose. Sounds trite, but often these big games cause one teamto not perform as you might expect. I don’t see City as the team under all the pressure in this game. If we experience pregame pressure, it will be in the home leg.
I think City can, and will, win both legs. However, as long as we score and don’t lose by more than one goal at Anfield, I can’t envisage any way we lose over two legs.
My fear, of course, being a City fan for 50 years, is that this turns into the worst week of the season against our two biggest foes, rather than the best week of the season! Hard to shake ones own ‘istree with a team, but if I was going to, this week would be the perfect one for it to start. We have never had a better team and coach in our ‘istree and I think City are creating their world class ‘eritage with every game.
After watching the Everton game and Pep’s team management, I expect Pep to switch Danilo for Sterling and play a 5-4-1/3-4-3 formation. They have to attack us. Pep will blunt that and have the team built to counter attack them. We need one goal and have to stop them from scoring more than one more than we do. After that, it is about winning at home. If a team can’t do that in the QF of the CL, then the SF is beyond them.
