Pep Guardiola on Aguero's chances of facing Liverpool: "We will see. Still he didn’t train. Hopefully he is much better. We will see and in these situations it is day by day. I hope he can help us. Maybe not in the beginning but maybe the bench."

Guardiola on Liverpool's front three: "It's not just Salah. Mané and Firmino, all three, they are almost unstoppable. They're fantastic."

Jurgen Klopp: "City are the favourites. In specific moments, we are on a similar level but they do it much more consistent, that’s why they have around 20 points more. No problem with respecting that, but we all know, in this game, it doesn’t mean too much."

Strongest available XI please, which has to include Sterling - I can see no sense in dropping our 2nd top scorer to the bench when our top scorer will most likely not be fit to start.

I just hope we fucking paste the ****s. Score early shut the fans up. Then strangle the game and destroy them. C’mon City!

Never confident going to Anfield but after that first half against Everton, I am strangely optimistic that we will finally win there. I think it's going to finish something like 3-1 or 4-2 to City.

I have a sneaky feeling he might start Gündogan in this one.

Ederson
Walker Kompany Otamendi Laporte
Fernandinho
Gündogan Silva
De Bruyne Jesus Sané

Would look more like this in possession:

Ederson
Kompany Otamendi Laporte
Fernandinho Gündogan
Walker De Bruyne Silva Sané
Jesus

Leave Raheem on the bench to start and bring him on to put the nail in their coffin.

--------------------Ederson--------------------
Walker---Otamendi--Kompany------LaPorte
---------------------Dinho-------------------------
---------Silva---------------------DeBruyne------
Bernardo----------Jesus-------------------Sane

Raheem on for Nard-dog at 75 minutes
Danilo on for LaPorte at 80 minutes
Aguero on for Jesus at 80 minutes

Bernardo has to start instead of (Anfield) Razza imo, bring him on and let him run down the middle in the 2nd half.

Sterling and thats the team.

Liverpool play a narrow formation, which probably is the reason why they are always first to the second balls in the middle. Combine the compact formation and the high press makes playing through the middle a very difficult task. They do allow opponents to play through the wings, meaning the RW and LW positions are from where we can hurt them the most. If Sterling has a game similar to the last one at Anfield, where he never went past their LB even once, it seriously dents our attacking threat.
