I thought we'd lose at Anfield in the league, and we did. This time I'm nervous, but unusually confident. We've performed well in the UCL so far this season when it mattered. Silva is back in the side, the importance of which cannot be overstated. They also have a number of important injuries. It's a horrible place to go, but I think we can get a decent result tonight. Bearing in mind that Liverpool's best result of the season, their 4-3 win over us, would not constitute a good result at home in the Champions League, and I don't think we'll perform worse than that. Going for a 2-3 away win!

Just praying that Pep doesn't start Sterling...
It's a horrible place to go but it's easier to quieten the Anfield hordes than they like to make out.

You make a very good point it is very much a double edged sword. The general expectation is that Sterling will as on previous visits go into his shell and quiver every time he gets the ball and be ineffective. However, maybe tonight things will be different and he could turn on a five star display and silence the dippers. The manager is the man who is tasked with the responsibility of deciding which is the more likely outcome and we don't have much longer to wait to find out his decision. Either way I believe he knows best.
Can we afford to play with 10 men on the pitch? That's how bad he was in Jan.

Pressure is all on them to deliver the same result as earlier in the season. IMO there’s nothing we have to fear from them. Yes they have history in this competition, but their current players DONT!!!!

It's a Titanic clash! It only remains to be seen which side is the iceberg and which the White Star ocean liner...

Despite his poor performances at Anfield in the past there’s no way I’d be leaving Sterling out tonight.

Hopefully Pep will put his arm around him and give him the confidence and opportunity to shut the scousers up.

The thought of him scoring or even better getting the winner surely outweighs the possibility of him having a quiet game.

Also, any over-the-top challenges to get the crowd on side you’d hope would result in cards being shown.

Sterling has already shown mental toughness throughout the season and this will only go towards his character building, which will stand him in good stead for the rest of his City career
I would agree all that talk of him being nervous at klanfield, but there are good reasons to play Bernardo Silva.
He is rested, and tends to tuck in.

So we can try Walker to provide width and push back Robertson, leave Sane to attack their weak LB,
And effectively outnumber their midfield 4 to 3 (who are also likely to be more tired than us in contrast to the last game), choke off supply to their strikers while leaving the back 3 to deal with any loose balls.

It's bizarre really that we should be so worried about playing this lot.

At home they've played 16 games, and won 10, scoring 38 goals and conceding 10.

At home we've played 15 games, and won 14, scoring 51 goals and conceding 10.

Away, we've played 16 games and won 13, scoring 37 goals and conceding 11. Our away record is better than their home record!

Wonder if we’ll see any leaked team news tonight from Jose Alvarez Haya, or if the club will have plugged any leaks ahead of such an important game? Maybe Aguero’s absence might prevent him finding out anyway?

Ooohhhh, up for it now.
Come on City !!!!!!

As someone else has stated this week, whatever Hansen, Dalglish or whoever have done in the past, it won't affect us one little bit.

Nothing would please me more tonight than to see Razza smash home a winner to silence the delusional dipper cnuts up for the last time!! Then run in front of them with a ssssshhhhhhhh finger to the mouth.
If Carlsberg did winning goals......

He's not leaking it tonight
