We're a totally different side against a press with Silva in the side. If they are too aggressive with it, we will pick them apart.

KDB and Silva have still won every game in which they've both started this season except 10 men against Everton.

Similar story with Jesus in the team too who was missing at Anfield last time, along with Silva and Kompany(although not sure he will start for this one).

I believe it's been over a year since we've lost a game where Fernandinho, Silva, and KDB have all started.

Hoping Jesus does start. The link up play seems to be a bit better with him up top and he will run his arse off when they have the ball.

I can definitely see us using similar tactics to the Everton game.

As a poster said in here having Laporte at left back looked like an experiment with this game in mind.

Have him stay back so we effectively have a back 3, have Walker up the pitch with Kev dropping into the right back position to help the build up, and with that Sterling playing more as a 2nd striker as Walker is occupying the wing.

BT Sport's pundits for the game.

Mcminiminum
Likkle Mikky Owen

And for balance......

Robbie Fowler.

Four reasons why I think it will be different this time:

Kompany over an unfit Stones
Bernardo over a distracted Sterling
Silva's ability to retain possession
Gabby's pressing game

Dream scenario... we make the Napoli away game seem like a gear below and play Liverpool off the park, dominate them at their own gaff so badly that the home fixture becomes a walk in the park.

I’d be surprised if kompany doesn’t start, showing some decent form and hopefully brings some calm to the back four during that first 20 mins where I’m sure they will come flying at us.

Depends how he's feeling for me, hope he doesn't try and start if he's not 100% because the last thing we need is him over stretching and coming off after 20mins because heads could drop as a result of that. I'm also worried he's lost a bit of pace/mobility and their front 3 can be rapid, his strength and positioning are his biggest assets.

Yes I know you mean, plus Saturday he would be ideal for picking up lukaku and getting everyone up for that. Great decisions to have.

If everyone's fit bar Mendy then they would be my options. Get Aguero on as fresh legs later on if we need a goal if he's fit to play. Sterling sit out of the 1st leg, maybe play the last 10-20mins, he just struggles at Anfield, would start him in the home leg though. Can't play Stones given he couldn't handle the league game at Anfield.

Torn between the 2 formations. The top one gives us more flexibility and options from the bench and is similar to what we did at home in the league but we are less familiar with it.

No way I can see Delph or Mendy being involved on Wednesday. Neither are anywhere near fit enough for such an important game against such a dangerous attack. I hope it will be either Danilo or Laporte - I can see benefits of both. Probably opt for Danilo with his CL experience. I'm already sick of the media bigging the Scousers up. Really want us to expose their weaknesses and silence their seemingly endless number of ex-player pundits.

I definitely won't be putting BT on, until kick off.
