Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Whisper it quietly but I think we are so close to being back. Maybe not all the time but close. Need to start playing second half’s agains and a run of wins is realistic.

Guehi is a brilliant signing and you can see a proper defender.

It’s on I have no doubt.
I am liking the options we have got at CB. Dias played well when he came on and Khus was terrific. Guehi, Dias, Khus, Guardiol is really strong. I think Ake and John will go this summer as will Bernie and he will be a big big miss. Still think the attacking midfield needs work. Cherki is a fantastic skill and is learning all the time about the PL. There is a player in Reijnders but he will need time. Phil? He is working hard but not reaching his best. I do think we need a couple more this summer we will be there.

Its something baffling and unique every single game, and funny how they all go against us.
Not really, but it's funny how some continue to think that they do.

Looking at both Liverpool matches, for instance (against a team that some on here would have you believe the PL want to win everything) - have we really lost out? Which key decisions have gone against us? If your conspiracy was real, there was enough doubt about a few of them to have gone the other way.

I dont understand why the big controversy over the cherki disallowed goal.....haaland is fouled but the advantage is played.....the ball still rolling towards the goal & then haaland fouls the defender before the ball crosses the line so therefore it goes back to the first foul & free kick city & red card. Although I can see why people dont like it but I thought it was the right decision in the end.
The freekick and sending off only benefits the team who committed the offence on this occasion. This is not in the spirit of the game when a goal has subsequently been scored. If it was 1-1 and this was the outcome (us having a freekick), it means cheats prosper.

A goal should overrule any proceeding infringement. e.g. a penalty should not be given if the ball ends up in the net in the same motion.

Cherki booting the ball over the bar from the free-kick was one of the best bits of game management you'll ever see. It was 99% guaranteed that the ref was going to blow for full-time when the ball was in the air from the goal kick. A short free kick might have seen us quickly lose the ball and Liverpool booting in high towards our box, in which case the ref would most likely (it being Anfield and all) allowed that passage of play to continue.
I thought it was 99% guaranteed that the ref was going to blow for full-time about 30 seconds before we scored the goal that was ruled out. Can never fully rely on an officials time keeping in relation to game management

I think Bernie will get offered a 2 year contract, Pep lived him, and quite rightly too

Got back in yesterday and had forgotten to set the recording, does anyone know if there’s a way on Sky Q to access the full match a day after?

I imagine there will be a tweak in the laws this summer to avoid this happening again!
