Ederson
Walker Kompany Laporte Mendy
Fernandinho Stones
Sterling B Silva D Silva
Aguero

Think I’d start like that with Stones in front protecting the back 4 and covering for Mendy

I wouldn’t start sterling on Sunday, don’t think he’s mentally prepared for the atmoshphere he gets. Would stick Mahrez there and let him have a run out

They were shown up last night for what they really are. They play with intensity not technique. Napoli matched them on intensity and outplayed them technically. Another full on game after Chelsea did the same. City tend to struggle for intensity in the middle of the park, especially without De Bruyne but that extra day off should help. They will play essentially the same team so no let up physically for them. We need to make sure we are all over them again as they will make mistakes after the week they have had. If we do that we win the game. They will be pumped up for it but ride the initial storm and stay in the game, come 70 minutes in we will wear them down. Especially with such strong attacking options on the bench. Our midfield 3 will be key. Do we play Stones and Fernandinho to match them initially and then look to introduce Bernardo or even De Bruyne for the final 20 minutes when they will have a bit more time? Over to you Pep!

In fairness why would I vote yes other than the fact I support City?

Pep didn't change anything for the CL game at Anfield after we lost and let in 4 goals there a month or two earlier.
He wont tweek our style for this game either. We will still do too many passes at the back and they will pounce on Walkers and Laportes mis-placed passes.
We suit there style.
Our best player in De Bruyne is out.
Historically we are awful there.
They are on form at home.
We haven't hit top gear yet this year. Drawing our only half difficult game.

So, as negative as my post is, football is a funny old game. You never know. If we can just not let a goal in within the first 15 min like we usually do we may have a chance for a change.

All in all though that's why I voted we will lose. More than happy to eat humble pie.

Keita to make miracle recovery after having s triple heart bypass and brain tumor removed.

IMHO, fans should never make light of injuries. Apart from the sporting aspect of it, you want to always face the best. Liverpool are a tremendous side and the only side to really cause City under Pep problems with any regularity - as a fan, I'd want to see my team beat the opposition without excuses

I was taking the piss out of their cult fans. Bombarding social media with bullshit he was dying on the pitch.

I agree we beat them with their best team out so they gave no excuses. Being scousers they'd still find one though.

Keita wasn't likely to play. They'll go:

Allison; TAA-Gomez-VVD-Robertson; Wijnaldum-Milner-Henderson; Salah-Firmino-Mané.
Just ploughed through 34 pages and the first time somebody has mentioned Milner. I reckon he has been playing well for the Dippers - Without wishing any player harm - I hope he doesn't play.

While the sentiment is correct, youre not a Blue and so you cant appreciate the depth of feeling many have towards all things Dipper - the scruffy cvnts.

The comment you replied to was also very much tongue in cheek, for clarity ;-)

Apparently he looked very tired yesterday and wasn't very good, wasn't pressing like normal. So hopefully he'll be the same again on Sunday.

Twenty minutes.

We just need to cool the game for twenty minutes.

If they don't score and we go 1-0 up after 20 mins, they'll fall apart.

If we get out of Anfield with 3 points, they will devour themselves.

The pressure is on.

Whilst this game could clearly go either way, I really think Pep will have us hugely up for this game, and we will impose ourselves on them. I also think the players will be right up for it too. Last season in the league when we went at them they buckled and if the game had gone on 5 mins longer we would have won it. In the Cl we were shell shocked for half an hour which is hardly surprising given the ambush, and even then they scored an offside goal and we had a blatant penalty denied. Take our game to them, and with the players and Peps mentality we can easily draw or win what will be our hardest game if the season. Then move in with KDB to come back. CMON CITY

Salah etc aren't on form yet so I think we can ease off the defensive worries although they will be up for it.

This one will all depend on how we keep the ball and take chances (as always).
