Liverpool (A) | Ref Appointment

Not sure if this has been mentioned, why didn’t Fabinho get booked for our pen but Dias did?

Fabinho got a yellow for a cynical foul when Foden was through in the second half that he wouldn’t have been able to do if he was on a yellow.

Not so bothered as we battered them, I actually don’t think it was a booking either but neither was Dias’.
He should’ve been booked. Mane should’ve been booked as well for his tactical foul in the first half.

There was one I thought was a distinctly bad call.

When it was 1-1 Raheem had a break down the left and put a decent cross in. Foden was near the penalty spot and, as it seemed to me, got taken out by Robertson before the ball came to him. Given the penalties Oliver gave Leicester, and given how soft the Salah penalty was, I couldn’t see the difference but it wasn’t given and of course Sky didn’t show a replay.

There was a 50/50 chance we’d have missed it anyway, but at the time I thought it was a very bad call. I also have this feeling it would have been given at the other end.

Yeah remember that it was a penalty for me.

However poorly one thinks the ref performed, it's probably high time we got off this false narrative that they were awarded a soft penalty, they were not!

It was a stone cold penalty. Dias messed up, panicked and pull on Salad impeding his ability to advance towards goal. That is a foul anywhere on the pitch and a penalty in the box.

Now, did salad flail and fall like a 2 dollar extra on a D rated movie set? Yes! He fell like he had been shit with a put your hand up bullet.

But none of the above changers the fact that Dias hand checked him 2ice. Clean and clear penalty!

Carry on...

It's become normal to occasionally see that given as a penalty/foul elsewhere on the pitch, but there is absolutely no impediment on Salah to prevent him a goal scoring opportunity, it was merely minor contact. That's why it is not a 'stone cold' decision. I don't mind as long as this is applied evenly to each team, within the same game.

It isn't. Some players get more of these than others, and everyone knows who they are.

I also posted exactly that. Strangely the commentators didnt even mention it had happened. Phile was taken out by a push in the back. Even if Oliver didn't see it, it should have been brought to his attention. So despite us wacking them the bias was there for all to see.

I think to be doing so well against the backdrop of injuries, covid, non- favorable officiating/VAR at times is testament to how f#cling good we are. Winning without favors and winning well will do me

I thought Oliver was lenient to them re cards.
