Liverpool at Home... FROM £57

Just tried to look on ticket site can't see prices anywhere what did FROM £57 turn out in the end ?
I can't get the option to buy (and therefore, ticket prices) up.Maybe the game has sold out already? I know for the Stoke game, the dearer level 2 seats were £48 (having bought one of them!), which was £4 dearer than levels 1 & 3, a differential of £4. Perhaps the Liverpool pricing levels were similar so, given the higher profile game, maybe up to £63-65?
Has anyone bought one did they break the £60 barrier ? Seems strange no one has posted owt or have people just come to except what's going on ?

Weirdly...the tickets were actually cheaper.

Looking round the stadium planner this morning I'm certain it was £55 in SS level 1 (where I bought mine) and I think £58 in CB/ES level 1.

Strange one, as last year the 'from' prices were family stand prices, and SS level 1 was usually around £10 higher

Very strange indeed you are right about the south stand being £10 more last year than the north just maybe the £60 ticket was a barrier they didn't want the bad publicity of crossing ? Just thought have they done it the other way and was north stand £47 then ?

Tottenham season-ticket holders paying up to £90 per match as cost of watching Premier League rockets
Tottenham's £1895 season ticket works out at £90.24 per game
Arsenal's most expensive season ticket costs £77.42 per match
Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all under £50
West Brom's most expensive season ticket works out at £24.16 per match
Over 50% of Premier League clubs raised season ticket price

No idea what the north stand was as I don't have permission to view it -> don't have a child.

I can't think of any reason for selling tickets cheaper than your asking price other than they've came on here and seen the immensly negative feedback at the ticket price increase. Quietly decreased ticket prices and tried to brush it under the carpet. I seriously do think if the prices were £10+ the FROM price in all normal sections of the ground like last season (so we'd be looking at ~£70), then there'd be a huge boycott and a massive media backlash. Obviously the last thing the club would want. When we got ours yesterday we decided £65 was going to be our upper limit, any more than that and we'd refuse to pay, and watch it in the pub next to the ground instead. Was pleasantly surprised at the cheap(er) price then!

Where did you get that idea from? I have a season ticket in the North (purchased last season) and do not have any children (Other than grown-ups).

Tickets in the North were always visible on the planner when I had a Blue Card.

Even though I have a ST, after seeing the "from £57" price I was intrigued to know how much the prices would be in other areas of the ground, given that last season the prices started at £47. Even went on Liverpool's site to see if there was an announcement regarding their allocation but couldn't see anything. I was expecting SS prices to be around £65 which would've been scandalous IMO but it seems a modicum of commonsense has prevailed.

Really? I thought north stand was family stand i.e., adults with kids only?

Just checked again and that part of the planner is definiteiy blacked out. The only other prices I can't view (due to their being no tickets) is SS level 2. If anyones still interested:

SS:
Level 1: £55

CB/ES:
level 1: £55
level 2: £60
level 3: £57

You think this is bad wait until next season if we win the league again

They were £54 each for the Southampton match after we won the league in 2011/12.

Not that much more expensive really are they - bearing in mind all the pages of fookin moanin.

I personally think the price is far too high and if I didn't have a season ticket I would struggle to justify it.
On the other hand it will be one of the most sought after tickets if the season, first game at home and against the scousers so city are going to price it high, I just wonder if the majority of people moaning, are going to go to the less attractive matches which will be priced lower?

Of course they are, mate! We sold out every inexpensive game last season, right? I mean...a Champions League game is a big game, isn't it? We sold out all of those, right? And, they were all really expensive, right???

Welcome to the adult world. It sucks sometimes.
A bit of an eye opener for you regarding our CL games last season as a comparison to these ticket prices.

Liverpool 14/15 - From £57
Stoke 14/15 - From £44

CSKA - £33 (SC holders £28)
Plzen - £33 (SC holders £28)
Bayern - £48 (SC holders £43)
Barca - £50 (SC holders £45)

So in the real world/adult world a ticket to see Barca in the last 16 of the champions league is AT LEAST £7 cheaper than Liverpool and AT MOST £6 more expensive than Stoke.

Do not defend these disgusting prices.

You could get a ticket to see Barca & Bayern for cheaper than a ticket to see Liverpool & Stoke.

I believe it is called sarcasm. I also hear not every catches on as quickly others. I was at those games and there were PLENTY of empty seats and many of the SC holders near me were not there as they didn't join and their tickets didn't sell.

Some people MIGHT say that up to £50 to see the likes of Bayern and Barca play at the Etihad is worth it(cheaper if you are SC holder...another good deal!), as it hasn't happened before and they are LITERALLY two of the best teams in the world. I would be one of them, you clearly are not.

I seem to remember a 3 for £99 promo last season for the CL games. Do you? City KNEW (just like they know it this season) that the home CL games against the Pot 3 & 4 teams would not draw the fans, so they created a cut-price package, plus there were plenty of people selling cheap tickets to those games. Did the casual fans snap them up???

And, the more you tell me NOT to do something.....!

Yes, did mention that early in the thread, and that I expected first home game as champions against runners up would be one of our most expensive games this season.

Prices started at £42 for the Southampton match in 2012, albeit in the north stand.

Do you think in becoming a global brand City have become less of a club?

It's wonderful to see City competing with the best teams in the world (& fantastic to see them eclipsing Utd) to see some of the best players in the world wearing the sky blue of City and experience the joy of winning titles but there is a price to pay.

Let me be honest. I don't come from Manchester, but when you grow up in a town like Chesterfield though you go to watch your own club, if you want to share in the joy of winning something, you need to choose a team in the top tier to follow. When I saw that wonderful City team beat Spurs on a frozen pitch in 1967/8, I made my choice & stuck with it through thick & thin. Let's face it, when your top tier team ends up in the same division as Chesterfield you can take some flak. But I never regretted my choice. I did get to Maine Road once to see City beat West Brom 2-1 but I'll never see them play at the Etihad - unless I come into some money.

But to come back to my original question, my wife is a funeral director who is presiding over the military funeral of a lifelong City fan next week. She asked if City would donate 6 ties for the bearers since the deceased man served his country for 20 years but was told that could only be authorised through the charity group. Unfortunately, they close in the close season. This man has died too soon to be considered.

This is in sharp contrast to Chesterfield FC who willingly donated ties recently in similar circumstances.

What do you think?

I think that City not supplying 6 ties for a military funeral is pretty rank, maybe they asked the wrong people at the club. I'm not condoning the non supply but usually City are on the ball with things like that.

I'm sure the likes of Danny Wilson could have helped out. The thought that the club couldn't supply 6 ties doesn't sit well with me.

Cock up or conspiracy? In this instance I'm going to plump for cockup.

I don't, I blame the club, with this new TV deal and various multi-million pound sponsorships we could piss FFP and still have cheaper tickets but no they choose to squeeze as much as possible out of people and change the support to one time supporters who will come to the ground spend a fortune in the club shop and then a fortune on the food inside the ground, for my brother (now living in Cardiff) to come to that game it will cost him £92 with this Cityzen bollocks, which I'm sure is nothing to do with Monsieur Platini ticket revenue is a drop in the ocean for clubs like us

We failed FFP though even with the dearer tickets, with cheaper tickets we would have failed by more.
