I think momentum is more important than fatigue. We need to beat Liverpool and lay down a marker. I think the League Cup has generally been great for City. We wln an early trophy and it takes pressure off the rest of the season. The FA Cup later stages are usually a bridge too far because they clash with the CL. Winning is a great habit to have and City seem to be a team that produces large winning runs and get better the more matches we play.Tricky one this, our England players and Alvarez obviously not available, some rusty without playing for a month and others probably still reeling from World Cup disappointment, I know some of this applies to the opposition, but their players in general haven’t been as involved in the World Cup as ours. Personally I want us to win because it is Liverpool, but part of me thinks if we need to keep the Champions League and Premier League challenges on track, something has to give. I would sacrifice the Carabao and FA Cup, but would prefer to survive one more round in both because of the opposition.
