Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Called it in the pre-match that Doku would take the piss out of Bradley if he played. Was so obvious, he was unbelievable today.

Whole team were. Worked hard, ran and battled harder than them but still had quality to match it. Loved that today.

Pure determination to win the game and overpower them.

the premier league is littered with young lads who came from the bundesliga for big cash and flopped

sancho
kagawa
mikitaryian
havertz (to a degree)
Timo Werner
Keita
Pulisic

shame we got Kev hey ;)
Big erl has been decent i suppose ;)

Liverpool now 5 defeats in only 11 games already. Looks like they've run their course to retain their title. They never really seriously challenged. With Arsenal's slip up we can start to hunt them down yesterday. Doku completely unplayable but why pull him off for underwhelming Savinho?

Tell you something refreshing today, Pep didn’t go with something madcap, he picked the 11 that the vast majority of us would have picked. Toss up for Reijnders potentially starting in place of Cherki but no daft formation or players in a weird role.

Loved it.

We were absolutely immense for about 70 minutes today but that's all we needed. Doku was absolutely unplayable and you won't see a better wingers performance all season. He's been threatening to do this for a while but seeing them putting 2 on him and then him walking past them like he was a ghost was SUPERB.

Haaland took his goal well, no one else could've scored that and Nick Gonzalez basically capped off a brilliant performance. He's really stepped up in the last month or so and I'm eating my words on him. Maybe he needs runs in the team rather than cameos.

Nico O'Reilly was solid today and Salah had nothing and couldn't get past him until the subs came on... once they came on, the game drifted to them. Savinho offered nothing and I'm getting tired of him. He is a headless chicken. As soon as he came on I noticed Gakpo coming into the game more. I just wish we had put them to the sword with a 5-0er!

Overall just what we needed, a top class performance and result. Liverpool aren't the same team as last year and the signings have made them worse!! That really takes some doing. Slot needs to ditch what he's doing and go back to last season's tactics and drop Wirtz who was absolutely shite. He won't though haha!

Donnarumma is like a fuckin wall isn't he? As soon as the opposition look up and see him they know they need to be exceptional to beat him. He's such an upgrade on Ederson it's untrue.

Great performance, even better result and it looks like this team might be in the hunt for the title afterall!!!

COME ON CITY!!!

Amazingly we had just 49% possession and 83% passing accuracy today.
I would expect Pep will want to improve on this significantly for his next 1000 games in charge.
Add this to how we play now and that will be some sight to behold.

Tbf it wasnt just bradley he got bored taking the piss out of bradley and decided he was going at the full team bout 30 mins in

Perfect game to play Bernardo today. Keep the ball, slow the play down. He was so good. Excellent decision by Pep to play him.

Nunes at full back is a revelation.

Nico outstanding yet again. For a young kid, to walk into this team and play like you've been there 5 years. That's some going.

And obviously Jeremy. Fantastic yet again. He's now producing thr consistency and end oroduct we were all talking about.

He was goosed. Marmoush came on for him.

He was supposed to be the signing of the century if you believed the press, so he came with a ton of weight on his shoulders and hasn't lived up to any of it. Mind you, Isak was also meant to be the final missing piece too, and let's not forget Nunez.

I dunno. It's almost like journalists cream themselves over certain teams transfers and not others.
I’m guessing Guehi is rethinking his upcoming move at the end of the season.

Fukin one hit wonders

He is a talented footballer but you get a hell of a lot more time and space in Germany and he looks overwhelmed by the physicality here. He has looked better in Europe so far. It depends on whether he has the stomach to fight for his place and put the hard yards in to get into better condition than he's ever been in.
Could just as easily see him taking the easy option and fucking off to Bayern for half what Liverpool paid in the next couple of years.
I think he would be a much better player if he had come to us.

I can only think with the game won Pep hoped he would be able to run at a tired defence and gain some confidence
