Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Liverpool now 5 defeats in only 13 games already. Looks like they've run their course to retain their title. They never really seriously challenged. With Arsenal's slip up we can start to hunt them down yesterday. Doku completely unplayable but why pull him off for underwhelming Savinho?
He was goosed. Marmoush came on for him.

He was supposed to be the signing of the century if you believed the press, so he came with a ton of weight on his shoulders and hasn't lived up to any of it. Mind you, Isak was also meant to be the final missing piece too, and let's not forget Nunez.

I dunno. It's almost like journalists cream themselves over certain teams transfers and not others.
I’m guessing Guehi is rethinking his upcoming move at the end of the season.

He is a talented footballer but you get a hell of a lot more time and space in Germany and he looks overwhelmed by the physicality here. He has looked better in Europe so far. It depends on whether he has the stomach to fight for his place and put the hard yards in to get into better condition than he's ever been in.
Could just as easily see him taking the easy option and fucking off to Bayern for half what Liverpool paid in the next couple of years.
I think he would be a much better player if he had come to us.

I can only think with the game won Pep hoped he would be able to run at a tired defence and gain some confidence

Pep got it spot on, played the game to expose their weak points and not play into their hands for once and we made it look simple in the end. Little tweaks like haaland actively cutting off supply to VVD and forcing konate onto the ball are details we don't typically see, that has ljinders inner know how all over it for me, he knows their weaknesses better than anybody.
that tactcial move must have been so satisfying for him. It worked perfectly. Small things that have huge results.

I was also wondering whether that was ljinders? Bet that didn’t go unnoticed by lots other managers

Savinho was fine today, worked hard

Holding my hands up - I wanted Ake in to mark Saleh, pre match. My fears were totally unfounded as NOR was one of several stand-out performers. Saleh did fuck all and with a ittle more confidence, Nico might have had 2 goals.

A very impressive performance against a revitalised Liverpool. It's hard to laod enough praise on City after that performance: it'll go down in the anals as one of the great displays. That 2nd goal was historic. Special mention for Doku who was the stand-out a breathtaking display and that 3rd goal alone that was definitely worth the admission money.

Happy days! Anyone know any Arsenal fans? Check the arses for twitchiness.
