Personally think we're going to need to score 3 goals + if we wanna win this.
Personally think Laporte and Dias will keep them quiet! I’d have Walker and Ake either side. Ake has impressed me and in particular he looks very calm 1 on 1 which is key against Salah.

My deepest concerns are regards our left wing.
Cancelo has had some good games as a makeshift left-back but he's actually an attacking right-back / wing-back so not ideal if we're going to be put under a lot of pressure down that channel.
I think Ake's the favourite for the left-back role up against Salah.
However, he's a centre-back rather that a specialist left-back, so better placed that Cancelo for this game I recon, as he's better equipped defensively and is left sided, but also not ideal I suppose.
I'm looking forward to seeing the line-up.

I think Gabby is definitely in contention to start on Sunday. He was outstanding when he came on against Olympiakos he looked incredibly sharp.

Would love to see a front three of Ferran, Sterling and Jesus.

I know many fans reason like that. But I don't think Pep agrees with them :)

Gabby can't play the whole game. We better play him in the last 30-40 minutes as we may need to turn the game around than in the first 50-60 minutes. We need a game changer on the bench.

Really looking forward to this game. Just a pity there are no fans in attendance. My own take on it is that If Liverpool allow City to have the ball we will lose. Never been more important to press than in this game. Also will Matip or one of the kids play at Centre half. Either way looking forward to a good game. If you gave me a point now I would snatch it and run away happy

Gonna smash my phone up when the line up gets announced and Mahrez is in it
Mahrez up against Robertson is a dead rubber.

Robertson is a horrible snidey **** who loves a battle and Mahrez doesn’t.

He’s also a very good left back who loves getting forward and Mahrez is crap tracking back.

Bernardo has to start on the right for me

Want to be positive and think we can grab the win here, but just feel like we don't have the legs required in the midfield, sans Bernardo (and that's if Pep starts him).

The best performance I've seen from us under Pep, especially when under pressure, is when we beat them at home two seasons ago. They were at their fighting best that night, and we stuck it right to them. That win wasn't possible without Dinho and Bernie putting in the ridiculous shifts that they did - I can't see us getting up without that sort of intensity and control provided.

The difference between the sides in previous seasons has been defensive. Both score a lot of goals but their back 4 and defence focussed midfield make them a tough proposition to break down. Without Van Dijk and with our addition of Ake and Dias we're now better in that area. Walker has been sensational and whilst there might be an apparent weakness at left back, Mendy has always managed when we've played them so I can see whoever we pick there coping.

I would play Gabby, Torres, Sterling as the front three. Walker, Dias, Laporte, Cancelo as the back four. And controversially I would probably play Rodri, Gundogan and De Bruyne. If we need to chase the game then bring on Foden/Bernardo but to start with the balance would be there with that three. It didn't do us too much harm when we beat them 4-0. They might have had some good chances and have secured the title already but they wanted to win that game undoubtedly.

Very difficult to predict how we'll line up for this one. This is what I'd go for:

Ederson
Walker
Dias
Laporte
Ake
Gundogan
Bernardo
De Bruyne
Foden
Sterling
Jesus

But I doubt that will be the team Guardiola picks. Think the only guaranteed starters are Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, De Bruyne and Sterling. Could be as many as five places up for grabs.

Rodri is absolutely guaranteed to start, like 100%, unless he is injured.

We'll have Riyad Mahrez to do that :)
