I think that Palmer is potentially better than them but I don't grasp why you are talking only about him- we signed Haaland, Phillips and Alvarez.
Yes we did, but lost sterling, jesus and zinchenco, so them 3 in and 3 experienced prem players out, I talk about him because most people say he is the next best thing from the academy, so we lost 3 experienced players who were mainly on the bench but were capable of starting a game, the whole point is starting 11 potentially stronger l, but in my opinion squad depth massively weaker

And potential is nothing, loads of potential had gone down the drain

Loads of people predicting Haaland to score. I really don't see him playing. Pep isn't going to want to give Klopp a free look at our new striker against his team ahead of the league meetings. He may get 20-30 minutes for fitness purposes but I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't used at all.

Ortega
Walker
Stones
Laporte(if fit)
Wilson-Esbrand
Phillips
Gundogan
Bernardo
Foden
Mahrez
Alvarez

Players who missed the tour need the game time. alvarez needs to settle and get in tune with the others. Phillips should start, could easily be alongside Rodri but in a game with little consequence, throw him in the deep end and see how he does. Similarly, If he has any thoughts about potentially using Wilson-Esbrand this season, seeing what he's about against these lot and how he copes with a likely roasting from Salah will give Pep a good indication of his level and cancelo is a naturally fit lad and won't need much to get into top gear.
Agree Haaland shouldn’t start. I’m probably being paranoid but I don’t want our likely top scorer exposed to our nearest rivals before the season even starts. I’m not saying there’ll be an instruction to nobble him but you never know if one of their players takes it upon himself to go in harder than he should. Start him against West Ham.

Feels like we will win. We're quite strong in our pre season ganmes even though just two. lfc have been bedding in players.

But its no reflection on the season, its a game I enjoy because its all hammer and tongs but doesnt matter.

Not looking fw to the nunez v haaland bullshit

I have a sneaky feeling Klopp has watched Haaland on you tube and knows what to expect when they face him.

Why is everyone worried about getting kicked to death? As I see it most teams try kicking the shit out of us and 1 of the only teams that don't and don't need to is the dippers. Play the players that need the minutes to be ready for West ham. As much as I hate klopp and the dippers players they won't be going out to injury ours.
Why do you hate Klopp?

I think this will be tough. I don’t feel like we’re as far along as they are. They’ve played a few games, we’ve only had one proper full game, and a few first teamers were missing from the tour squad. Still, it’s only a puffed up friendly (if we lose, otherwise it’s still major trophy).

Thiago and Fabinho seemed to make it their business to kick lumps out of us last season.

The four players we have lost were never starters in our strongest eleven , all four of them spent more time on the bench than playing last season , no doubt they were all experienced and valuable members of the squad but all four apart from Dinho in his prime are replaceable.
Haaland was the most coveted striker in europe and we got him , Alvarez the current South American footballer of the year and Phillips had proven in two seasons in the Premier league and at top level international football that he is very capable.
In my view we need one more signing ideally Cucerella from Brighton for a left back spot were we have struggled to find a natural left sided full back for a few seasons , but generally i am happy with the transfer business always sad to lose four stalwarts who gave everything for the shirt , but we have replaced them with similar quality players who will give exactly the same.
If we had lost any of Dias , Cancelo , KDB , Bernardo , Foden , Gundo , Laporte , Stones , Ederson , Rodri , Walker then i would have been more concerned because these players when fit more than likely start the big games and replacing any of these would have been tough.
Looking forward to a new season with supreme optimism under the best coach in world football backed by the best mangement team whilst also hoping that a couple more of our academy players make a break through, its a brilliant time to be a blue.
