Liverpool Post Match Thread

Not much can be done either way at that stage. let's not fanny about and pull the trigger, something that should have been done at the end of last season.

Indeed but we are stuck with him now so we have to hope that things start changing. Hopefully Silva will be fit some time soon and we might start keeping the ball a bit better. Our pass completion must have been dreadful today.

That's what I thought. Two saves that should have been goals. Saved us from a potentially embarrassing scoreline but some very doubtful distribution, and we are getting a couple of shite clearances a game. But not only Hart! Too many of the starting eleven barely made a contribution today. And I include those sitting in the management seats.
I expected him to take charge of that back four today. Knowing it was a new CB pairing he should have been talking non stop. He sees the pitch better than anyone and should be constantly telling his defenders where the gaps are appearing, where the runners are going (the same runs all game) and most importantly to know where your fellow teammate is.
That's before we get to his awful distribution, he was slowing the game down every single time he had a goal kick. He should be screaming at his full backs to give him width or be brave enough to pass it out to his CB's. Instead he threatens to, stops, looks about, waits for the moment to go and then kicks long.
Making world class saves has never been his problem. Unfortunately there's a lot more to goalkeeping than making saves. He's by no means to blame for the defeat, I'd just liked to have seen him step up and command his area today and he didn't.

Today is the first time I'm really questioning pellers. Shit team selection, no motivation and completely outplayed in every single aspect of the game.

6/7/8-1 wouldn't have been a disservice to Liverpool today.

Night summed up for me with City fans singing the Gerrard song at the end. Pellegrini's leverage, his crowning glory, grounded in another bloke's moment of misfortune.

Leicester City top after 13 games shows how Pellegrini has massively underperformed with the ammo he was given in the summer. I expect us to win in Turin because the club deems that more important.

Nice to see the players were so unaffected by their performance that they could embrace, hug and laugh with their conquerors tonight. Would be nice if they took being an elite team seriously.
