Liverpool Post Match Thread

I really cannot believe that we are resting players for the Champions league games especially with a quality well-drilled side like Liverpool with Klopp at the helm coming to town.

Does anybody honestly believe we can win the Champions league?OK we may get an easier draw by finishing top but with Arsenal losing, this game was of more realistic importance.

OK then, if he has to rest players, then do so which I don't agree with but don't leave out Otamendi and Fernandinho. That decision alone was absolutely suicidal.

He had one eye on the Juventus game yesterday that much is a certainty. It's his last chance at a tilt at it and he put that in front of three points yesterday with his fucking shocking team selection in the middle and defence.

We have already qualified for the knock out stages so even a point will do and shut up shop over there being enough.

Klopp is a far superior manager who got a very good performance out of a far inferior set of players, Manuel is getting nowhere near the level of performances with the tools he has at his disposal, gung Ho football is his order of the day and it's become fucking tiresome.

Clear your desk and don't shut the door behind you, fuck me have we missed a trick in not getting Klopp.

It looked to me like a team that don't want to play for the manager any more and a manager that knows it. They played like a team that knew it was beaten before the game started. Which a lot of us feared as soon as we saw the team sheet.

I don't know what's going on but the first step has to be a new manager if we want to win the league. We cannot continue with suicidal tactics and a team that seems demoralised. We cannot afford him to blow another fortune in the Jan window.

I like Pellers and he's done good things with us. But football is a ruthless game so I'm afraid I think it's time for him and possibly at least one of the players on the pitch today to go in the same window.

Pellegrini made a shocking team selection once again underestimating a team outside the top four and playing neither otomendi or fernandino, our best players last month. Worse he played Mangala who should never play for city again. Undermines the whole team, transmits nervousness throughout the team, has two left feet, not good enough at this level should be playing for Oldham or somebody.

Agree especially about yaya, gets all the stick yet is the talismanic player who controls matches, transmits a calmness to the team despite intense pressure Liverpool put on city with high pressing game.

Maybe he thought they needed resting because of their internationals. There were 2 South American qualifiers in the international break and Delph has had a nightmare with injuries.

I thought that the Derby setup was evidence that Pellegrini had recognised you can't play Toure and our usual attacking open game, but today's starting line up was suicidal against a manager renowned for his pressing game.

Totally disagree about Mangala. When he plays regularly he plays well and has been so at the back end of last season and the start of this season when he was playing week in week out. Now he's lost his place and he comes back and struggles. That is entirely predictable. We have seen it with Dzeko, Jovetic, Bony and more or less every top player who became a fringe player. If you want squad players at their best you must play them regularly. It's difficult

I thought he was being much more pragmatic this season eg Utd away. That's been the first game this season where he's got it totally wrong

To be in contention where we had Aguero, Silva, Nasri out together for 6 weeks is remarkable. I don't know how we produced that performance away at Sevilla, but for the most part in that time we've struggled and looked way off the team that started the season

I thought it'd be easier having slept on it. How wrong I was. Still very annoyed at this result. How can the manager get it so drastically wrong? It is totally unacceptable to send your team out like that when thousands of fans were able to see it themselves prior to kick off!

It would be easier to swallow if it was a one time mistake but with Manuel it isn't, he's constantly getting things wrong. Yes he'll get a couple right, but he'll get many wrong.

We've been playing poor for a while now.

Get your stuff Manuel, please just get your stuff and fuck off.
