It's amazing how many people describe the general theme of our "tales of 2 halves" without actually joining up the dots!!!

Or in Chelsea's case, go behind and allow themselves to get battered by us but somehow come out of it only 1-0 down - thanks in no small part to De Bruyne missing a chance that he sticks away 99 times out of 100 - and then punt a long ball up to Costa who turns Otamendi and slots it past Bravo, then score 2 more on the counter and cue a media wankfest about a Conte tactical masterclass!

I don't expect at all transformation over night.......but this is the best coach in the world and a few tweeks in just some games could have a much improved effect.......what is certain is that we go into those reverse fixtures with Spurs, liverpool and maybe one or two more with he same set up/tactical approach (and i don't mean simple 4-5-1'a/3-5-2's etc but what he is actuallyasking the players to do and where he expects them to be and the roles he is asking them to perform) the results will be the same. That to me wouldn't be the sign of someone who can claim to be the best tactical manager in the world....

But how do you know he's not asking the players to do exactly that?

Do we really have a strong squad? For two seasons now I have claimed we can field the best 11, after that, the fall off in quality is quite stark. If several of that best 11 decide to take a day off, we are bound to struggle facing oppositions best 11.

I would take our team / squad over theirs.

What I find most frustrating is that the club knew pellers was a stop gap whilst they waited for pep and with his best mate as DOF should have been building a squad for pep to take over and hit the ground running. Last season we wrote off as just waiting for him to arrive. Now some are writing this season off because they say the squad needs overhauling. Next season they will say the players are bedding in... he has a three year contract.

I wasn't really referring to you. We aren't going to win every game, no team does.

But the truth is that in the summer we spent in the region of £150m yet still have the same deficiencies at full back, centre back in midfield. In addition we are lighter up front than we have ever been and have severely weakened ourselves in the goal keeper position. Surely we should have been able to expect some level of improvement?

Agreed. I think most expected us to compete for the league and see some great games of football. Hopefully we improve.

I've just seen the goal for the first time. Stunned. Never mind the touch from Kolarov, where was the other half of the team? What a simple move for a goal and we didn't even get near them. The players and the manager need to take a good look at themselves. Schoolboy shite from all concerned yes including 'Pep'.

yup......im not sure how people are blaming aguero for yesterday......he was so isolated.....

KDB was absolutely awful yesterday as was Yaya and Kolarov (again)...serious questions need to be asked of a manager who continually picks a player who is so underperforming as Kolarov and yet is making a world class forward so isolated......our whole attacking play int he last 10-12 games has looked very poor against the better teams at times...

I agree with others intuit he is trying to shoehorn a bunch of midfielders into a team and the balance just isn't there
