Liverpool - post match thread.

We don't have horses for courses, so to speak. We are very predictable, we win games because we have better players not because we are reinventing the game of football

There are so many things wrong with this 'team' it beggars belief. One of which is that we don't play as a team, we have 5/6 top players and the rest are average, bone idol or both.

I read a stat on here which shows how mismanagemed we are - we have not spent money on a full back since 2011!

His run work rate has improved but his all round game has to improve he was isolated because he was offside never in the 6-yard box KDB was bad pep's mistake was playing Aguero every time sterling got the ball dipper's doubled up on him with Henderson should have benched Aguero and let KDB and sterling play a interchanging free role

Kdb was dreadful yesterday.....

Kun was at least holding the ball up and bringing in sterling at times....Kdb couldn't hit a 5 yd pass yesterday

Kun was caught offside few times but this happens....Im not sure its a reason why he should be sold though as some are suggesting........(Im being slightly sarcastic btw but its seems to be a small part of an argument being put forward)

the problem lies in what Pep is asking the whole team to do.......they cant do it against teams that play in certina high energy styles.....Yaya...constantly getting robbed of the ball.....kdb as well......kolarov getting forward so far that he cant get back (how many times does Pep have to see this before he changes it?????)

Yet the stats show we win more without him in the team than with him.

I would rather have been with him than against him in this league over the last 5/6 years. Not a big stats man as it can be quite misleading at times. Are we talking over his whole time as a City player when he has been absent we have gained more points on average? I'm not convinced either of our titles would have been won with another striker in his place.

None of all this mattered yesterday. So I fail to see your point. Liverpool was simply as dogged, and they got away with a victory.

That was the last point in a conversation i was having with another poster......where we were saying what could have been done differently.......I think those changes would have made a difference to the result and that is the team i would ave put out and asked them to do certain things (at least in the first half)

I just don't think Aguero will change. He could walk into most teams in the world playing the way he wants to play so I'm fairly sure that is what he will do.
And that's why he will never be world class look at the difference between Aguero and Luis Suarez similar ability but Suarez works hard and his all round game is better the simple things like passing and ball retention Aguero has been poor at these for the last two seasons

I know...but like i said people are blaming him yet are failing (or don't want to) see that it is down to Pep and his way of setting up the team and what he is asking those players to do......and i don't mean Kun in that...he has changed and adapted...dropping deep, running his socks off in games, running channels etc.....

But Pep is asking certain players and the team to play in way it cant.....Kolarov, Yaya, Kdb Zabba are all equally at fault cause they are being asked to play in a way that is just unsuitable........
I'm falling between two stools here because I essentially agree with what you're saying. I have massive issues when we are talking about systems that apparently can't accomodate world class players. But the key point is that rightly or wrongly, Pep is our manager and he does things his way. I think it is fair to say that many people at the club are obsessed with him so he isn't going to get the bullet or be told he has to play to the strengths of the players he has. So it is utterly futile at this point to say that Pep should do this or do that, the reality of the situation is that Pep will do what he likes and if certain players don't suit Pep then they will be the ones who go whether they are world class or not.

You know some posters are right - pity Barney Daniels is still not available he would show Kun a thing or two.

I think the real problem is Pelegrini. Folks spent so much time convincing themselves he was the problem last year, that now they are confused when the team they thought was being killed by the worst manager ever, is now acting similarly under the best manager ever.

But funny enough, I think the player bashers have luckily stumbled on the truth. We don't have the best players in the league. Thus, we are not going to dominate...

When Pellars had the best players, he won the league, when Pep does too, he'll win the league. Until then, we are just a close to the top table team struggling for consistency.

Well that and he's been playing shit (when not banned) recently.

One ban was deserved...the other i don't think so

its got to such a level of failue to see or even denial with some fans that pep has got it wrong that some are now suggesting/intimating that Kun gets himself banned deliberately so he can have a break......Im sorry but this is just absolutely laughable.......its denial cause the other alternative which is at least much more plausible is that at present Pep is getting his team set up wrong and its not getting the best out of all the players (Kun and everyone else)
