Cost us the title?
I see the towels are being thrown in a bit earlier this year then.
We do this every year, have a wobble and then the glass half empty brigade come out.
Personally I think we'll still win it, too early to give it up, there will be twists and turns, we need to get behind the team and show everybody we got a pair and fight to the end.
Fuckin come on........

It's impossible to expect that Chelsea to throw an eight point lead away twice in a season, it ain't going to happen. I hope they do and it does happen. I admire your enthusiasm and commitment. But for me it's all about making sure we finish second, get away from football for 6 weeks or so watch some cricket etc and then report back for duty in August with a renewed belief.

For the record, I think Chelsea will win the League. However they've thrown away an 8 point lead already this season in a matter of weeks, so although unlikely, it's not totally inconceivable it could happen again. As with out previous two title wins, we need to go about our business and see where it takes us.

I like your optimism but no a cat in hells chance will we win the league. I will bite your hand off for 2nd place now. If anything I can still see us dropping more points than Chelsea.
I usually try to take the positives but being realistic we are well short of any character, spirit and confidence. It's going to be a long painful drab end to the season in my opinion (like the season before last). I reckon we need to plan now for next season and if that means getting a different man at the helm so be it. (as long as the right man becomes available). We need a couple of marquee signings this summer or else we are going to have a major battle in challenging for 4th next season never mind 1st. Its a good job we went on that winning spree before the New Year or else we will be struggling for a Champions League spot. We have had a dreadful campaign in the cup competitions and was lucky to progress through to the knockout stages of the Champions League. FFP has played a part but so has Pellers tactical naivety. Good luck to Khaldoon and co, because some major decisions need to be made. Let's just hope Aguero doesn't get disillusioned because the vultures will no doubt be around in the summer.

It is a 5 point lead, last I heard you had to win your game in hand to get the 3 points.

Same old problems against a team who had just travelled back from a demoralising defeat in Turkey. No excuses, the ref was fair and we were at full strength and we deserved nothing.
The only team who had a demoralising defeat in midweek were City

I knew we'd struggle today. It's the defeats and points dropped in other games that were costly

Getting KO'd from the Champions League is a massive deal. It's what half a season is based around, and a lot of football people were predicting ramifications

Liverpool did not want to really be in Istanbul, and they left their better players behind anyway

they rested henderson and countinho , any club with a decent should be able to field a strong side , with 2 absentees . Agree regarding europa league , premier league clubs generally do not prioritise the competition , our Barca defeat was far worse ,champs league is what all clubs strive for. The manner of our defeat was more galling ,its like groundhog day , Pellegrini persisting with 4-4-2 , has killed our season.

ARE WE FUCK!

Everybody talks about how much the players are paid each week and these are massive amounts. Turn it into monthly figures and all of these guys are each being paid between a quarter of milllion pounds and a million pounds a month. FFS what more motivation do they need? Come twhe summer when most of them are shipped out they may get the message that if they wanted to be in the team they had to perform.

One team wanted to put their European disappointment behind them ASAP whereas the other team wanted to dwell on the misery for a few more days.

My young sister sent me a football funnies calendar for Christmas. Just turned it to March and the character crashes through the front door and wife calls out "Did they win?" Sums up my mood perfectly.
