You sure about that? Reports are stating he converted to Christianity a few years ago and also suffered from mental health issues (I’d argue anyone blowing up innocents must do though!).

He has now been named. He converted to Christianity in 2017 and suffered from mental health issues. He was previously detained, in 2014, under the mental health act for carrying a knife around Liverpool city centre.
 
Makes me feel sick how much worse this could’ve been

if he’d been sectioned with his mental health issues surely he’s been flagged as a concern

Article said he converted in 2015 and was last confirmed as a Christian in 2017. Mi5 apparently looking into if he converted back via Islamist groups that radicalised him.

The guy should have been sectioned a long time ago by the looks of it. Serious mental health issues.

That I do agree with and more needs to be done in that regard. Did we vet all those we airlifted out of afghanistan, are we doing enough to deport known terrorist sympathisers ? There are huge problems and many serious questions need to be asked. I just believe that making it a Muslim problem rather than a terrorist problem gives them what they want.

We didn’t demonise Irish Catholics at all in the 60s, 70s and 80s -that simply didn’t happen to any significant degree.

I have only one mate who’s a devout Muslim and he speaks more harshly against terrorists than anyone I know.

In fact we debated about what to do with Begum and he said let the bitch rot.

I'd argue that all terrorists have mental health issues. The problem for mi5 is that they are not looking for a needle in a haystack, but rather a needle in a stack of needles.

Not all are mentally ill, as in with a diagnosable disorder, in fact most aren’t.

Many have been indoctrinated over a long period of time and if they weren’t subject to that, would be normal people.

It's all too convenient for me. Throw a mental health sticker on him and to stop any more division say he was a converted Christian. There have been thousands of mainly young fit men from countries who don't particularly like us, pile into the country across the channel this year alone, when they already have a safe haven in France. These people are chameleons, they blend in, gain trust then strike.

They were attacked in pubs and on the streets, they were treated with suspicion and scorn. We gave the UDA free range because they were the good guys against Catholics.
But in all that time the vast majority of Irish people were decent law abiding people who happened to believe in a slightly different version of the Bible.

Someone he lived with now, or the old couple he used to live with? If the former then surely she saw him assembling a bomb?
