"We've got a great togetherness about the squad, there's a lot of British players there now," Jamie Carragher said last October. "We went for a meal out before the derby and it was interesting that my wife could actually talk to some of the other wives without having to think of something in Spanish or French or something different. I think that will be a great thing for us this season."
Good grief, what an absolute idiot.MSP said:CTID86 said:A lot of people talk about the Chelsea dressing room being poisonous (it is), but Liverpool's isn't much better. Gerrard and Carragher are their equivalent of Terry and Lampard.
I really do think that we're in such situation where we barely can have any banter with other teams but this is just amazing:

Away they are atrocious and at home not much better!
If they are even contemplating Mourinho, they will have to have the fabled 'warchest' for him, which they evidently don't possess.
Otherwise, I can see a punt on Brendan Rodgers or Paul Lambert at Norwich.
They obviously put a decimal point in the wrong place in Liverpool's spreadsheet.VOOMER said:Salford_Blue said:I haven't looked at their remaining fixtures, but within a couple of weeks, they could be down to 10th or 11th.

Anyone see the film "Moneyball" with Brad Pitt and Seth Green? Essentially its about how a stats based system helped the Oakland Athletics team compete with a very low annual budget against the big boys, setting a winning streak record along the way. Henry hired Bill James for Boston, who wrote the moneyball book and came up with the mathematical equations to bring clarity to player statistics. The red sox used his system to recruit players, with the ultimate success of two world series. Que Damien Comolli, who Billy Beane (the person who Pitt plays in Moneyball), has heaped praise on for following the Moneyball way. Here's the problem though, baseball has very few variables compared to football and even pro-zone has not been able to define exactly what clarity its stats can bring to the game. As long as Henry and his crew are in charge, nothing much will change.

Its almost geek scouting, but infact its just pure laziness. It works in baseball, because its such a sterile game in terms of action. Don't get me wrong its a game a game of skill, fitness and tenacity, but its not football! It explains an awfull lot with regards to their transfer policy.
