Wow, I guess it's wank fest on RAWK now. It was always Conolly as scapegoat for them, never the king.

Though Conolly had "British wank fest" while he was at Spurs though.

You must mean Comolli. :D

On the other note, I will actually cheer LFC in the semis this weekend. Brad Jones will be in the goal, he really deserves it.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

After Comolli's inept handling of the Suarez situation straight after the match ("let's make sure this is handled properly as otherwise it could be a PR disaster..." and yes, that worked SO well for you!) I'm surprised he's lasted this long. FSG can't get rid of KD - they brought him in as a "legend" and can't sack him outright for the same reason. Makes sense to move him upstairs though, and it does point to a new manager coming in who either won't work with Comolli himself or won't work with a Director of Football in post, no matter who it is. Plus it gets shot of Comolli before the next transfer window.

If KD stays in post then he's very very vulnerable now. Nobody else to carry the can for any more transfer mistakes. He has to live and die on his own merits, such as they are, and 'istree alone isn't going to get him much leeway.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Yeah the fans will now lay the blame for the entire season on Comolli, Dalglish will escape scot free. They will use the removal of Comolli as a turning point and that will indicate that "next season will be their season" as it always is.

For one I'm happy with this. Dalglish will never be the answer for Liverpool. He's a footballing dinosaur in the modern age. Tactics, training methods, player temperaments, they've all changed since he was last remotely relevant, Dalglish hasn't. He's bought players and employed tactics that would have been competitive in 1989, but this is 2012 and he's woefully behind the times. As long as Dalglish is in charge at Liverpool they will be a sidenote in the Premiership, a side on the outside of the top 4 looking in. United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal will continue to be their superiors, Spurs may well do too if they avoid major upheaval when Redknapp inevitably leaves.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

This is exactly the sort of things that they used to laugh at us about and we would take it in our strides and even laugh at some of the stuff along with them.

I wonder if the scousers with their legendry scouse humour will be laughing along with everyone else,I very much doubt it.

Life jackets will be required around the streets with the amount of tears that will flow when the owners come to their sences and king all hail the king kenny gets the boot

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

This sacking is clearly an admission that they're signings have failed bar Enrique. Any new potential manager would need a shit load of ££/$$ to turn this side around, even at that it would be at least 5 years of steady investment for them to even begin competing for the league! IMO of course.
