This sacking is clearly an admission that they're signings have failed bar Enrique. Any new potential manager would need a shit load of ££/$$ to turn this side around, even at that it would be at least 5 years of steady investment for them to even begin competing for the league! IMO of course.

Comolli's theory of using the moneyball system was doomed. The thing is will Henry and co hang around, or splash the cash needed, when it becomes clear that might be in the region of £150 million?

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Seems to me that KKK is now clearly more important than LFC. Listen to their past players talking about how they squad have let Kenny down, listen to the owners talk about how they've got to get behind Kenny. Listen to their supporters talk about the king.

Priorities all wrong at that club.<br /><br />-- Fri Apr 13, 2012 12:22 am --<br /><br />

I would have thought that only Bellamy and Enrique were "moneyball" signings, and they're the only two successes.

Downing and Henderson were reportedly bought on stats, but I wouldn't call either of those moneyball, as the whole concept of that is buying players cheap before they get expensive (lots of resale value), or buying older players that are undervalued for one reason or another.

They are becoming more comedic every day'

BBC claiming they are considering Johan Cryuff as their new sporting director.

Johan Cruyff is among the names being targeted by Liverpool after Damien Comolli's departure as director of football, BBC Sport understands.

Reds owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have yet to draw up a definitive shortlist to replace Comolli.

Football legend Johan Cruyff has landed the sport in another racism row after reportedly telling Edgar Davids he has only been promoted to the board at Ajax 'because he is black'.
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2064530/Johan-Cruyff-accused-racism-sexism.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... exism.html</a>

Perfect fit for Klanfield.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

I'm not sure what weird point they're trying to prove and the timing is just bizarre.

... John W Henry spent somewhere in the region of a half billion to win the baseball title. He will spend again. For the Prems sake I hope so.
