I think it's already been put about that liverpool will spend between 20-30 million this summer mostly on younger players. How they expect to get champs league with that I don't know

They don't. The plan will be to stay in the premier league, buy cheap and sell big, will improving the woefull marketing of the club. Ulitmatly they are holding out for an increase in the champions league places to the top 6. As for Newcastle, no one from Qatar, or AD is coming in for another premier league club, they are looking at teams in Italy, Portugal, France (possibly) and Holland.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

I see they are trotting out the same argument that spurs did last season, all our strikers had a bad season we battered teams had loads of chances but just couldnt put the ball away, well we lent spurs a striker and they are currently sitting 5th and looking like missing out on champions league again so maybe the argument is nonsense.

Also lucas is fast becoming a sandro type player, in that i mean a player who is much better when he doesnt play than when he does, lucas had a couple of good games and all of a sudden hes the new makelele, viera etc all rolled into one, not to long ago they were saying lucas couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Anyone see those massive puppets wandering round Liverpool aimlessly at weekend.
Shame they lost to West Brom.

Was reading their post match thread on RAWK yesterday and many believe that if they had a top striker and Lucas playing, they would be Top 4.

Currently 8th position in the League

Currently 16pts behind 4th
Currently 27pts behind 1st
Currently 4pts from 14th position

Norwich away at the weekend

37 pts behind 1st

Ooops...how cack are my maths?!?!?!?!?

I agree mate...last season very few supported him.

This season, a run of good performances, a shoulder charge on Yaya and he's the new Roy Keane

I know for a fact there has been a Qatari envoy in contact with Ajax on and off for the last 18 months, Lyon are already in talks as have Marseille and Bordeaux. They are looking for cheap purchases, and aside from half a dozen of the top Italian teams, there are cheaper options to be had, outside the uk. The next on the list could be Roma and the Bundesliga clubs are also on the menu. They don't want all their eggs in one basket. I believe we will be last big venture in the premier league, because we were bought at a knock down price and are a logistical and development dream.

Bloody good point, I'd completely forgotten about the Spurs striker dilemma. It's also worth remembering that when KK came in they had a very strong end to the season, and Liverpool fans the world over were saying that if the league didn't end they'd go on to win it (even though they were second in form to us). Everyone was chomping at the bit to get this season under way, they were going to take over the world. KK was the messiah, the club was on the up, they would destroy all in their path, next year. Nearly everyone who wasn't a dipper fan recognised it for what it was, the famed new manager bounce, getting rid of Woy and the players feeling rejuvenated playing for a club legend. Stuff like that wears off, and it has.
