Liverpool are now a midtable club, closer to relegation than the title. No class player will want to join them.
Class players will join any club. All players go where the money is. Liverpool can still pay players huge salaries.

utter shit
How is it shit how did we attract top players

Re: Liverpool Thread 2012

Give Barcelona players Wigan's wages and in few months all of those who danced on the pitch tonight like some cheerleaders would move from Camp Nou in matter of months..

There's no romantics in football or at least there's no romantics if it's not joined with money.

We attracted good Premier League players on massive wages. Top European players will not go anywhere just for money

We didn't get Silva, Yaya and Tevez until we had shown we meant business

Anyway L'pool haven't got the money to attract anyone of note. Until they realise where the are, which for them or any club is hard, similar to an addict really they will continue to struggle

It isn't shit at all. I don't know why people constantly prefer to buy into media crap. Open your eyes.

We had the right people and motivations in getting the players in, the difference between us and Liverpool?

-We have Roberto Mancini, a big name in Italian football from the last decade and who some of the continents best players have played with or against personally/his Inter and City team.
-They have Kenny Dalglish, a has been who made a name for himself over a decade and a half ago, but has lost it.

-We have ambition, we tell the players where we want to be, which is to dominate English and European football.
-They have history which they bone about, they will emphasise to potential players the PAST history of the club and how glorious Liverpool USED to be and what an honour it will be to play for them. What players want to go somewhere that always look to the past instead of the future, which they want to build?

As a player I'd want to make history, not be repeatedly told of someone else's glory. It's ungrateful.

Yes we, Manchester City, have a glorious history, which the players are fully aware of, but the fans and the club do not bone on about it and shove it down their necks at every opportunity. There is no pressure, because we as a club and fans do not hold the opinion that we have a 'god given right' to glory or to win things.

Excellent points. No point living solely in the past. Yes; remember the good times we had, but the future is everything. You can't change what has gone, but you can influence what is to come.

Liverpool and their 'istree

Please mods leave this separate from the Liverpool thread.

Remind me of their financing please fellas, I know they were bankrolled but by who, and when???

I know it was the start of their dominance, so can you remind me who helped them?
