John Henry seems to have put the final nail in the coffin of the idea of a new stadium:

He reckons it won't have any benefits for generating revenue as ticket prices would have to go up to cover the cost of building it.
That basically seems a fair point - and I don't know what their ticket prices are like now - but would their fans not accept it as necessary if they are to compete for the title? Sounds like accepting second best.
Also, seems an over-simplfication. Admittedly they might not be the richest of owners, but the value of the club would go up with a new and bigger stadium. Considering they got the club at a knock-down price, seems like a raw deal for the club/fans. Bit like saying "we bought you, but can't afford to move the club forward, so you will have to lower your expectations."
I know they are supposed to have made a decent job of the baseball stadium, but the one thing that never seems to get considered in any article about/discussion of it is what if they had re-developed. It's alright saying "isn't it atmospheric", but that's just highlighting the pro's without considering the con's, whilst completly ignoring the pro's and con's of the 'what if'.
Pity we don't get any Liverpool fans on here doing anything apart from complain about the forum and City fans, I would love to have their input on what's going on at their club these days.
