OK, so maybe this should go in a new thread, but here's the question:

Where do you think they will finish next season?

I am going to say 4th. I think it will be:

Us
Chelsea
Rags
Liverpool
Arsenal

Van Gaal will turn the scum around in no time - they already had the 2nd best away record in the league last season (level with us). It won't take much to get them winning at the swamp again. Chelsea will sign a striker, for sure and be even more of a threat. They could win it.

Liverpool will either not have Suarez, or if they do I reckon he won't have another season like the last one. He had gone off the boil at bit by the end as it was. And with CL football to keep them busy too, that's another factor. Add in the fact that they cannot and will not ever be able to defend. It's not about the players, it's Rogers who hasn't known how to set up a team to defend ever in his management career. He has plan A, or plan A. And if pushed, he can try Plan A. Defending is not part of his repertoire.

So 4th at best for me. Maybe 5th.
5th, They'll find it a lot harder next season now that teams know what to expect and will play more defensively and Arsenal are very good at doing enough to get top 4.

They will struggle with the additional games too now they have qualified for the CL

Definitely, goes without saying, look how leggy they looked at times in late April/early May this year after 42 games? They're guaranteed at least 48 next year no matter what and that's after a World cup schedule for Suarez, Sturridge and Starfish as well.

No offence but i doubt Sturridge & Stevie Me will be having an overly long World Cup campaign.

No they won't, 4 games at most but it disrupts pre-season and gives them less time to get in peak shape.

None taken, although I was rather upset when we lost 1-6 at home to Germany in the qualifiers ;)

Us/Chelsea
Us/Chelsea
Rags
Arsenal
Liverpool

Rags will strengthen but will still have a few probems due to new manager and the amount of player changes ie Vidic/Rio/Evra leaving and new players coming in. It's fair enough that it takes some players a bit of time to adapt, and the same with the manager.

Arsenal will spend money and even more so if they win the FA cup because they will feel they have the winning mentality back and will want to push on and have a go at the league AGAIN.

I don't think Liverpool have got the spending power to compete with Us, Chelsea, Arsenal and United so I can't see them bringing in top draw players that will take them to the level of us or Chelsea.

I think they will finish 5th, the CL will take a lot out of them and I think Rodgers will get found out this season. They won't make it out of the group stages in the CL, perhaps they will have a go at one of the domestic cups, but any Liverpool fan thinking they are going to be challenging for the league again is living in dream land

EDIT: Just realised they all live in dream land anyway

A time warped one at that. They are stuck in 1976. Bless.

Why is it obvious other teams will strengthen and progress, but it's obvious that we'll weaken and regress significantly? How come Arsenal who spent more days than anyone in 1st place didn't collapse, but we collapsed because we couldn't win 14 games in a row?

If we drop off slightly, that's still finishing a distant 3rd or 4th. There'll be a gap between you and Chelsea at 1/2 and the others--that's the real reason for the window shutting, not that "Liverpool FC will be totally clueless and not know what to do with the indignity of playing in Europe" .

Hopefully if we're not going to be challenging at the top as you predict, you win it again rather than the Rags, Chelski or Gunners. Nice coach, attractive style and not as cuntish, dirty, hypocritical, etc as the other three.
