Gerrard says "bring on the banter". Expect 90 minutes of 'he slipped on his fucking arse', 'the babys not yours', 'whats that cumming over your wife, is it a pancake', and 'have you ever seen Gerrard win the league'.

i hope he gets all the banter he deserves, but i fear today will be a bit more than banter. 5.30 kick off, both fans on the ale all day, i just hope he appreciates the banter at every corner he takes. he will want the derby today to be remembered for him and him alone. the sky love-in is all adding to the hype and let's hope Everton form a guard of honour for him and play YNWA or a phil collins number before kick off just for the loveable rogue ;-)

Just watching BBC North West, they're interviewing Scousers about the 1967 Derby match. Whether it was planned or not I don't know, but they stopped an old fella and asked him whether he remembered the match, Yes he replied, I played I it. Turned out it was Tommy Lawrence, former Liverpool keeper. Flipping heck it made me feel old! For those who don't remember Tommy Lawrence he was the fattest goalkeeper you could imagine, made Neville Southall look under-nourished. Today he looks like he's 10 years older than he should be.
Known as the "Flying Pig".

Yeah that's right. I'd forgotten that.

Those were the days when Liverpool fans weren't quite the obnoxious twats they are now.

Been really enjoying watching us again over the last two / three months – the quality of the togger has been almost on a par with the stuff that we were playing last season (albeit without the end product in some cases, given the absence of a decent forward with Sturridge still out / only just coming back).

Ever since Rodgers went with the 3-4-3 formation and ensured that all the main ball players can be accommodated in the team again (Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic) then it’s been great to watch.

A lot of last Summer’s signings – Moreno, Markovic, Can, Lallana - have now been integrated successfully into the team, most of the players are still young and developing, defensively there have been massive improvements and, with Sturridge now returning to full fitness, then hopefully the goals will start to flow again in the near future.......starting tomorrow, ideally.

Up the fucking reds!

Just like rags, we only see red dippers on here when things are going well.

Lose a game or two, and they'll disappear like snow before the sun!

This.

The fucker thinks he is on RAWK!

"up the fucking reds"......TWAT!
Haha so very true. They are slowly starting to poke their little twat heads out of their shells/arses or wherever they've been since Stevie slipped on his arse.
Pretty soon they'll be declaring this team will be capable of great things, and next season will be "their year".
For a brief moment I was starting to think they learnt a lesson after the embarrassment they made of themselves last year when they won nothing despite the parades and "were gonna win the league" chants.....but no, no they are still twats and numpties to the bitter end....oh well just gives us more things to laugh at

Rodger's talking sense on Sterling today.

Players can always get that windfall at about 25-28 which are the peak years. However that domino may fall soon, problem is once top young players are on top wages (see Shaw) every other promising 18 year old will want one. Look at Berahino who not only thinks he's already too big for WBA (which can be forgiven) but he's now acting like it and saying it (which is a disgrace IMO).

I think Sterling's on 30K, but so far either he or his agent find around 70K unacceptable. I don't get it, new improved deals can always be negotiated, Coutinho has just earned a performance related pay raise.

More like Rodgers talking out of his arse as per usual. He's trying to tie up an exciting young player on a long contract for peanuts. If Sterling was at another club and he wanted to sign him, he'd be telling him that the club was being disrespectful and not paying him his worth.
In today's market, Sterling is worth more than what Liverpool are offering and if Rogers and Livepool fans are honest with themselves they would admit that too.
If Liverpool won't pay him what he's worth, there are plenty of clubs who will. Sterling has the upper hand here and Rodgers knows it. Him speaking out like this is an attempt to get support from the candle lighters.

Things I learn on BM. I don't read tabloid press or websites and so most of it is news to me. WTF is this pancake business [I am not that interested and so please don't reply]?

Back to Sterling. Can't Pellers just offer 100k per week and get him over to the Etihad? Seems to be the market price. As others have said, if MCFC don't pay it then Real Madrid et al. almost certainly will.
