Can is seriously impressing me. I still believe that Lovren is an exceptional player as well. The dippers defence should be very strong next season if lovren can adapt in the 3.

Can't imagine we'll stay with 3-4-3, we'll revert to four at the back at some point.
I think your squad is much more suited to 3 at the back. Rogers loves possession and it allows more better ball players.

Liverpool's future is probably as the new Southampton. Source cheap young foreign players and develop them alongside good homegrown ones. Then sell at a profit.

John W Henry is a commodity trader and if the price is right, he'll sell. It's risk-free or at least less risky than spending money they haven't got trying to compete with clubs like the rags and Arsenal, who can outspend them.

They have the perfect fanbase to accept such a scenario. They would never blame the owner, they'd put all the blame on "the plastic, oil rich, lottery winning, no history, no fans clubs" thus ensuring their shyster of an owner can fleece them like the Glazers are fleecing the rags, hopefully for years to come.
By the time they realise what's happening, it will be too late.
Give it another ten years and the Merseyside derby will be like the Tyne/Wear derby. Contested by teams that were great in another era.
It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of c**ts.

Everything you said there is pretty much spot on. They haven't got the resources to keep up with us, United, Chelsea and arsenal. They will blame there downfall on us, our Arab money and our dodgy sponsorships have ruined them and they would have had at least 4 prem titles by now. They're quick to forget that they have a billionaire owner who has put a fair amount of money into the club.

Rodgers really does live in a Fools Paradise.

Has stated today that Liverpool will not pay Sterling silly wages and they are a club that refuses to be held to ransom before they have made it.

Liverpool's present offer? £130k a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe he can tell us what is too much, too soon?

It's clear they are very worried that Sterling can get £200k a week from somewhere else, and his value is only going down due to his contract situation.

Don't understand you on Sterling. You take the piss of of us for lack of ambition for not being ready to break the bank for a youngster.

When it turns out that quite a high figure is on the table now you are ridiculing us for offering high wages to someone you feel is not worth it.

?

I think they were taking the piss because Rodgers said they wouldn't be held to ransom, youngsters have too much too soon, blah, blah, blah. Then they offer him £130k allegedly.

But now you're in the position we were in immediately after the takeover. You can't offer trophies or CL football these days so have to offer money. But yours isn't limitless like ours plus you have to think about FFP (although the new TV deal puts an end to that).

Anyway, I believe all this talk about a new contract offer is just window dressing and Rodgers knows full well that Sterling is going. The whole thing is being played out to placate the fans and Ayre is listening to bids.

I reckon it's got very little to do with money and a lot more to do with the fact that Sterling knows he could get a move to somewhere where he's more likely to win things.

Who funnily enough will also pay him top dollar.
