I am not bothered pretending to be hard on an internet forum. I like to discuss football.
I never defended Liverpool at all or made any comparisons to City. I was merely addressing why they lacked the intensity they had at the Etihad last season. It's not my problem you cannot follow the argument and jump to conclusions.
We had more players at the world cup and a far worse pre season in prep terms, don't use it as an excuse for them. If we were at full speed today it would have been 5 or 6 nil.
Once more why are people jumping to conclusions about things I never said or even implied.
This is what I said about the game.
Very impressive from City. They did not even go full out today and still crushed Liverpool. I predicted Chelsea to win the league, but Chelsea's weak central defenders and how good City looked may make me look foolish. Jovetic was class. Liverpool tried hard, but they just did not cause City enough problems and City easily picked them off and scored at will. So much more class on the ball and like the Newcastle game clinical with the chances.
If I was discussing City and someone had asked me why they were not quite as fluid (though worryingly just as defensively sound as the end of last season already) I would have made the comment about the lack of preseason, players not fully fit and some key players like Aguero and Fernandinho on the bench.
However, this is the Liverpool thread and someone noted that Liverpool were not as intense as last season. I then gave my reasons why and further elaborated that I thought that even with an ideal preseason they would be less intense this season.
EDIT
For emphasis again I replied to this comment specifically commenting on Liverpool's lack of intensity compared to the previous game.
They were less intense than last year. Still pressing well but without the super quick breaks.
