2017/18 revenue
1. Bayern Munich €578.8m
2. BVB Dortmund €332.6m
3. Schalke 04 €230.2m
4. Borussia Moenchengladbach €169.3m

That's the top 4 in Germany, couldn't check the rest as they didn't have enough revenue to get into the top 30 in Europe.

Schalke and Hamburg were closer back then, but both clubs have been a clusterfuck for years as any of the German clubs on here will tell you.

Transfer/wage budgets per the above URL are similar for various years I've checked.

I'll take Deloittes judgement over football manager, seeing as they audit the clubs or have access to the audits.
You're quoting revenue - I'm quoting transfer/wage budget which is more applicable.

Anyhow, the point is that BM have far more resources than others; BD is usually second although not always; a third team sometimes has more to spend than BD; and generally the rest of the field is far behind.

To restate your flippant observation:

Imagine, a club - BD - with (by far and away) less resources than BM, 40% or more, nevertheless, in Germany winning the occasional trophy. Mental!

They must have had some crazy good luck, or an extremely talented manager, or both.

I'm talking about a fully audited tax and regulatory compliant statement of their income and therefore their resources under Bundesliga and UEFA rules, as opposed to the figures a computer game has made up.

If you really think there's any valid grounds to discount what Deloittes have stated because some staff Football Manager have a different (and completely unqualified and uninformed) opinion then there's zero point in continuing this conversation.

Did you miss my remarks about the distinction between "revenue" and "transfer/wage budget?" Please carefully reread my post. And then help yourself to numerous supporting URLs backing my claim.

Seeing as all clubs in Germany are fan owned bar Leipzig (No dividend payments) and going into debt is restricted, no, there absolutely fucking isn't. What you bring in, you can spend. Dortmund bring in far more than anyone who isn't Munich, therefore they have more to spend.

What next, never mind the facts, Inverness CT really do have more to spend than Barca?

And there’s the rub.
Arguing with an automaton that holds faith in EA sports rather than reality. It’s all just a bit Disney for me.
