Liverpool fans have started an online petition to try to get Barcelona forward Lionel Messi banned for the second leg of their Champions League semi-final for allegedly punching Reds midfielder Fabinho. (Mirror)

Any chance the whole of the premier league could band together and get salah banned for being a diving cheating cnut !

Totally agree. The run of form they have had has been there best since god knows when, but he relies on the fact he plays 2 defensive mids to protect the back four, and when they get the ball it is either launched forward asap to the front three, or it is up to robertson or the other wingback to run as fast up the pitch with it

Once that plan starts to not work, he doesn’t know how to change it
3. 3 defensive mids. Even when Keita or Lallana starts, they play far deeper than their natural position.

Klopp getting stick for his selection the other night, but I feel like that's with hindsight of the 3-0 scoreline rather than the way the match went. The xG stats from the game were 2.7 - 1.6, so really, Barca winning by one would have been a fairer reflection of the overall game. Can't really blame Klopp for his players not taking their chances and/or Messi scoring that free kick.

If the Barcelona Police recognise any Liverpool fans who attacked the City coach, could you please help the Merseyside Police identify them, while the Liverpool Police help you not to identify any Liverpool fans who misbehaved in Barcelona.

Statement on incident in Barcelona

Merseyside Police officers are aware of an incident in Barcelona last night (Wednesday, 1 May) involving a Liverpool fan.

We are working with Spanish Police and assisting them with their enquiries.

Superintendent Paul White said: “We are liaising with Spanish Police, the British Embassy, UEFA, the Football Intelligence Unit in Merseyside and Liverpool Football Club, who are all working to keep fans safe and ensure an enjoyable experience in Barcelona. We want to reassure the public that we can potentially act on any criminal matters dealt with by Spanish Police by utilising football legislation in the UK.

“This type of behaviour is wholly unacceptable and I want to remind fans who are travelling with tickets to monitor official fan advice on the Club’s official website and social media feeds for information to assist their visit. Given the vigilance of police and security around the stadium, we would encourage fans to arrive in plenty of time.

“I would also encourage people to look after their own personal safety by taking some simple precautions – look after your money and belongings, stay together in groups, drink sensibly and give yourself plenty of time to get to the ground."

We can confirm six men were arrested by Spanish Police last night (Tuesday 30 April) on suspicion of public order offences following an unrelated incident.

The XG stats probably gave Messi a 1 in 1000 chance of scoring that free when it should be about 1 in 5. They're not accurate when it comes to Messi.

The owners have gone all in for the two trophies which would bring in the most revenue and attraction around the globe.

They degraded the League Cup and FA Cup. They aren't interested in winning "a" trophy; solely the ones that bring in the moolah and attract online clicks to generate more investment.

Similarly with Spurs. Poch embarrassed himself with that comment about medals and egos (forget exactly what he said).

As a football fan, I go to see my team win trophies; not to see HRH's bank balance rise.

WIll Kane reminisce about Daniel's bank account when he's 50 and has an empty trophy cabinet?

The common denominator...two very greedy, self centred owners, who spout this guff and the fans (admittedly, some reluctantly) back it up. A bit like Republicans with Donald.

Levy and Henry must have very sore side from all the laughter behind closed doors.

I think City & Liverpool, not unlike RM & Barcelona will decide which competitions to focus on ultimately. RM gave up on the Primera & Copa Del Rey through Barcelona's dominance and opted to focus on a shorter competition like CL. Pep, you could argue, might forego Carabao and/or FA to focus only on Premiership & CL - 3 at most is what I would guess. Will Reds & their FSG be content with coming close in CL & Premiership and not walking away with any trophies? I think choices will be made

But of course, CIty can continue to dominate in the Premiership - even if they get hit with a possible transfer ban

And when has Pep not tried to win all trophies. It doesn't seem to be his style and personally I think he is too principles a man to disrespect cups in that way.
With regards to dipperpool they are very much like Leicester when they won the league. Absolutely nothing from midfield hit it over the top and let the 3 forwards latch on to it, albeit the dippers front 3 have more to offer than Leicester did. Their trouble is if they win nothing then certain players will be off.

I don't disagree, just believe considering how absurd 4 are in England - he will be forced to

City is great, the best in England and just because Liverpool are 2nd doesn't mean they aren't great as well - just goes to show how great City really are under Pep that they are simply better despite the greatness of Klopp's Liverpool

For me, out of the 4 semifinalists - Barcelona play the least attractive football sans Leo

Just go the whole hog and get Liverpool banned for being c.unts.

I’ve seen it on here 3 times since hearing a pundit/commentator say it recently.
Wtf is it supposed to mean?

I knew it was a Scottish phrase, similar in context to ‘ya fcuking beauty!’

Urban dictionary confirms....

ya dancer
"Ya dancer" or "Ya wee dancer" is of Scottish origin. This expression means - Excellent! Great! Fantastic! Etc etc etc. For a reference, you can check the film Trainspotting where Sickboy uses the expression perfectly.
Scotland got England in the World Cupqualifier draw, ya dancer!

Say what?

There is a sickening level of bias shown in the UK media yet again.

There is absolutely no chance that if City had dominated Barca for 2 whole halves and lost 3-0, let alone 15-20mins of huff and puff in the second half, after already being behind 1-0, that there would be this level of praise for a "gallant" City.

"They didn't take their chances, deserved what they got... could have been 5-0 in the end" is the exact path they would go down and we all know it. Oh how brave Liverpool were though, "played Barca off the park"... did they heck.
Only Liverpool could lose 3-0 and get a tongue bath in the media.

Barca don't really seem to play like Barca anymore when I see them (which isn't so often these days due to Sky not showing La Liga).

I think that if City are going to be serious about the Champions League, we need to use more young players in the latter rounds of the domestic cups, should we still be involved, rather than bringing back the A list.

Especially trips to Wembley.

Not so bad if we're 20 points clear in the league, but in a close race, the same players are being expected to run like fuck, without getting a proper rest.

Spurs had to run for a few games v us & have fallen apart afterwards.

The dippers have been incredibly lucky with that even in two competitions.

Wouldn't the VAR boys have got involved if violent action had occurred?

I'm presuming this was when Fabinho body checked Messi as Messi jumped into him.
Ref gives a free kick, VAR says nothing, Messi puts the ball in the top corner.

Them and their petitions ay.
