can’t ever tell in football mate, Arsenal might get 3 or 4 players in who set the world alight and it’s a different season - if Mane and Van Dijk had long term injury’s then they would struggle a bit.

Rags when they were dominant. Including their manager (same could be said of Pep). Plenty of media spin during that period and currently with this Liverpool team.

It's nothing to do with 'ifs and buts' at all... which is why that comment isn't relevant and your attitude is unnecessary. I'll talk about what I like thankyou very much, Jonny.

I started off by saying they are obviously very good. It was more to show those trying to claim that: "Anyone suggesting Liverpool have dropped off themselves from last season and continued(since last season) to enjoy more than their fair share of good luck, just have their blue tinted specs on", should probably stop doing so.

The table does lie in some respects, not that they don't deserve to be top of the table, they do and fair play to them. It's revealing but the 'expected goals table' which you seem to have homed in on, is not to be taken literally.

We don't deserve to be top of the table. Have they really been playing well enough to be this far in front though on balance? I don't think so, the stats seems to support that notion. There's more than a few games where they were lucky not to drop points. Most people could already see it, to see it confirmed statistically settles it for me. They deserve plenty of credit but some are getting carried away.
