They'd won the league this season, theyd won it, their curse finally lifted... but no, a pandemic not seen in a century hits us. I hate them, really hate them, but fuck me, maybe they really are cursed?

In all seriousness, id hand them the title if it meant all went back to normal and shitty covid was extinguished.

They can wrap themselves as much as they wish in their dishonest cloak of ‘istree. The brutal reality, despite what they try and tell themselves about heritage and tradition, is that over the last decade, we’ve derived far much more fun and enjoyment from following our football club, than they have from theirs.

This is undeniable.

Ours has been mainly pleasurable; theirs replete with anxiety and crushing disappointment.

The replies by Liverpool fans are really odd...
'We were trying to score 8/14'
'It didn't matter anyway, we'd lost the league anyway'

Err.... no you bellends, you'd made it possible for City to win the league on the last day of the weekend, needing just to get a draw irrelevant of Liverpools result, unless they lost as well, rather than having to at least match liverpools result. A massive swing from being level on points with 1 game to go.
Spot on. That Palace result meant that our situation dramatically changed.

We went from needing to beat both Aston Villa and West Ham and not being able to afford a slip up (excuse the pun) to being able to relax and play our football knowing that a) if we dropped points at home to Villa, we had a chance to put it right against West Ham or b) by beating Villa we could win the league by merely avoiding defeat at home to West Ham.

The lack of pressure was clear to see as we went about trying to break both of these teams down. There wasn't really the panic from the crowd and the players were able to ease to victory. Both games appear straightforward wins at first glance until you remember QPR.

The Villa game was fairly even due to the weather for the most part they played the conditions well and Dzeko's opener had more than a touch of luck about it IIRC. We were the better team though and Villa were dogged to say the least up until going one down, then, they just seemed to collapse. I agree that we looked comfortable against West Ham. The last thirty minutes or so of that game seemed surreal after the drama two years before!

All this istree bollocks really pisses me off - they had a good 15-20 years from 1975 onwards - Fuck all before and fuck all since.

Ironically after huge investment from Littlewoods - remember that season when they just bought everyone's best players - Barnes, Beardsley, Houghton Aldridge, Wright etc.

Hypocrites of the highest order and a generation of fans that think football stared in 1975
