5th May hypocrisy is here:
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...andoned-over-player-safety-concerns-zc5clhnxx
'A number of Women’s Super League teams do not want the season to resume over fears that it would endanger player safety' - which then goes onto include Liverpool as one of those clubs.
Note comment here
6th May by West Ham forum:
https://www.claretandhugh.info/liverpool-accused-of-double-standards-in-football-restart-stance/
'After a supporter backlash, Liverpool appears to change their minds by briefing the press insisting they were never pushing for the WSL to be declared null and void with all results quashed.'
Also that we discussed Liverpool women and the hypocrisy on the "Covid - football" thread, the day (
4th)
before the Times report:

Oddly the twitter post quoted has been deleted, presumably a bit of 'airbrushing' of history... (
@mat got a screenshot?)
As with most things with negative Liverpool reporting, it's a a complete U-turn, when they are 'found out'/backlash.

Regarding your quoted official liverpool reversal statement of the
25th May:
In their own words.
'Now that it has been deemed that a return to WSL play is not possible...'
Seems strange that you've rolled over on that one, and the PL is somehow different, no?
If anything the women's game is far safer than the men's game, as the virus (IIRC) effects women less than men.
