Great that ta.

As cringe embarrassing as that night at Wigan was under Kenny you referenced, when they got things spectacularly wrong; that’s a brilliant message to add to the growing World anger over that latest US disgrace.

Follows on nicely from Rhian’s stance over the weekend.
Strange how the media always forget instances like that with you lot. When there are so many!

They never have been pushing for the season to be voided mate-

Just for a solution as to how to determine things now it’s been decided to end it as far as I’m reading that statement-

https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/women/396897-liverpool-fc-statement-on-termination-of-wsl-season

(No interest personally in the woman’s game but you got me interested down to what would have been complete hypocrisy from the club.).

Original 5th May hypocrisy is here:
https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...andoned-over-player-safety-concerns-zc5clhnxx
'A number of Women’s Super League teams do not want the season to resume over fears that it would endanger player safety' - which then goes onto include Liverpool as one of those clubs.

Note comment here 6th May by West Ham forum:
https://www.claretandhugh.info/liverpool-accused-of-double-standards-in-football-restart-stance/
'After a supporter backlash, Liverpool appears to change their minds by briefing the press insisting they were never pushing for the WSL to be declared null and void with all results quashed.'

Also that we discussed Liverpool women and the hypocrisy on the "Covid - football" thread, the day (4th) before the Times report:

Oddly the twitter post quoted has been deleted, presumably a bit of 'airbrushing' of history... (@mat got a screenshot?)

As with most things with negative Liverpool reporting, it's a a complete U-turn, when they are 'found out'/backlash.
cf Furloughing https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52191140

Regarding your quoted official liverpool reversal statement of the 25th May:
In their own words.
'Now that it has been deemed that a return to WSL play is not possible...'
Seems strange that you've rolled over on that one, and the PL is somehow different, no?

If anything the women's game is far safer than the men's game, as the virus (IIRC) effects women less than men.

You’d have to ask the media at large as regards that mate but outside of Henderson I’m not sure there’s still anyone else out of that group at the club now so it would be a little churlish to denigrate today’s show of support for a previous mistake.

Don’t see any issue personally in pro-athlete’s using their privileged position to add weight to the anger over this as many have done the past few days.

Same club, same ethos, same hypocrisy, same media darlings. Thats why the vast majority of football fans across the country dread you lot lifting anything pot wise. And will continue to do so!

And the Standard report from May 5th conflicted that claim L’pool were one of the teams pushing for the season to end. (The furlough disgrace has absolutely no relevance to that.).

I really don’t know what you’re trying to push here mate? Nobody wants, and nor should it be, either season ‘null and voided’ this far in. In an ideal World, we would wait until it’s safe to return. Why many here think this is ALL about L’pool when you’ve clubs like Leeds having their best season in years, West Brom in the last year of the parachute payment so badly needing promotion to save that team breaking up; Sheff Utd on the brink of a first ever venture into Europe et al I’m not sure? Like I said I’d personally prefer to wait until it was safe for everyone to return to grounds. However long that took. But I’m also not naive enough to not know that a lot of clubs are in serious financial peril and could well go the longer we sit out so I can appreciate the need to return from their view point. Even if I don’t fully agree.

FWIW, as I type, I don’t foresee myself watching any behind-closed-door games. Either the remainder of this season or next if it ever begins. I just can’t get into togger with the one key ingredient missing. US! Football without fans is NOTHING! And making things ‘a little bit safer’, isn’t 100% safe for me so doesn’t cut it.

But this season had to finish one way or another. Either by finding a way on the pitch or by whatever means (Average points-per-game etc) off it.

Which is all they appear to be after the woman’s game. Shrugs.
