"Mourinho's Chelsea have the 15 goals against season.

Arsenal have the invincibles.

United 99/00 are the only English winners of the treble.

United 07-09 won it 3 times in a row.

City 17/18 have 100 points (and a dozen other records).

City 18/19 are the only team to win all 4 domestic trophies (and the only domestic treble).

Yeah of course Liverpool will remember their title forever, just like Blackburn fans or Leicester fans, or how City remember Mancini's title.

They simply will never be remembered by history as one of the best league sides ever, and that's what they threw away. Of course they don't care now, they'll care in 5 years, and 10 years, when people look back at the best sides the country has ever seen, and no one mentions them.

Duncan Alexander made this point really well on the totally football podcast today or yesterday. They won the league in December, they were going for something bigger - the quadruple, the treble, the CL+PL double, the points record...and failed over and over until all that was left was a normal, run of the mill title win.

They all admit they played much better football last year. They haven't scored many goals, they haven't had a great defence, they failed to break out winning streak record, they lost a bunch of games at the end.

In 10 years it is possible people will look back at this title and the reason it'll be remembered is because it was against Pep's City, like Mourinho's one win against Pep's 3 at Barca, which when you consider what their season could have been...[/QUOTE]

Fully agree, the media did go overboard with their praise/fawning...like everything and something that many people are guilty of today. we look at the present and forget about the past. Things change, football changes but we need to be pragmatic and balanced.
Last season was far better, more competitive, better football, teams rising to a challenge.
Records are nice, but they have to be achieved, you shouldnt get all excited until you have got there, yes you can dream...like "this is gonna be our year".
The failure to beat records this year should be used as a spur to do better next year.
As others have said, next year will be even tougher, as pep will have learned from his mistakes this year, other teams wont be as poor/inconsistent as this year....In turn it will hopefully raise the standard and make for an intense ride next year.

But all the bullshit and bluster and crowing both here and on RAWK (not that i actually frequent there much) is what makes this game such a national obsession. Its also why i like coming on this board

Bloody hell!

A realistic Littlewoods fan.

We should have him/her stuffed!

The last time the rags won a trophy (the Europa League) City officially congratulated them. What we got in return was the man child that is Lingard leading the dressing room singing of "Why don't City fuck off home?" which he posted on social media.

City officially congratulated Liverpool on winning the Champions League last season and the Premier League this season. Last season they sent no official message of congratulations when City retained the PL. The only one, to his credit, who did was TAA on his own social media.
And that stupidity by Lingard, which as usual received very little criticism was when Manchester was ' A City United' in the wake of 22 people including little girls blown up at Arena. No critcism or attempt to shut him up by his teammates or others present
Just carrying on having a jolly sing song.
Despicable

.

I keep reading on various footy forums(mainly dippers)that we were gutted when Chelsea hit the big time. Even though they've turned into hypocritical twats regarding FFP since, I don't remember any City fan feeling gutted over Chelsea's money. In fact, most were glad that we might have someone to smash the uniteds/Arsenals from the top. We welcomed it. Selling Sweep to Chelsea was a shite, but we were on our arse at the time.

I was pleased anything to break up the boring status quo

Agree in the wake of what had just happened it was unforgivable what lingard and his team mates did. Again something just brushed under the carpet. When the City of Manchester was uniting in grief utd players did that.

Did utd every apologise for it ?

Sorry for going off topic

Didn’t the little weasel just take it down?

Very quickly.

As if being owned by Theo bloody Walcott wasn't enough. What did Villa do to deserve this?

Oh fuck me gently with a chainsaw, they are SO OBSESSED with Bramley Moore. It's pathetic.

I don't think we're going to get CL or Europa this season, Sheffield United are better than us and we were lucky to get a point against Villa. Hopefully we can try for Europa next season but we are going to need a massive overhaul.

They go on and on about how much they want people to hate them and how they love boiling piss, yet they get upset when people don't love them. Us included. One kopite came on the Everton Facebook page asking why we weren't sending him congratulations. How about you fuck off? Did City fans congratulate the rags whenever they won stuff?

I have it on good authority that plenty of City fans had welcoming committees At train stations when they least expected it ;)
