I've been pretty positive all season but it's hard to argue that the Dippers are now the best team in the Prem if not Europe. Several pundits have touted a top 2 then the rest but it's now a top 1 and the rest.

Hopefully this is a freak season but if we don't get our recruitment right in the next couple of windows there is no reason why this ****s won't dominate for the next 2-3 seasons, let that thought sink in....

It's a top 1 because you guys are having a bad season with some key injuries, and they've handled their injuries a bit better. Can't imagine the pressure that must build from seeing your rival win game after game after game every week, when you're not in great form. There's no way you will, but you could run this squad back fully healthy next year and end up winning the league again. A couple of key signings and you'll win it next year with that determination to prove the doubters wrong mentality.

Very true, tough to admit but very true. This summer is huge for us.

I guess we could technically prevent new users from sending PMs straight away, but that'd be punishing a lot of people on the basis of one crank. Thankfully this type of thing doesn't happen often.
Out of curiosity how long was he on here for Ric?

Think it's pretty funny myself :-)

Edit: Apologies @Ric the detail was quite clearly in the original post

Liverpool fan here. Just wanted to say a lot of the stuff you guys say about their fan base can really be trundled down to a combination of isolated fans and the fact that the extremists are the most vocal ones on social media. The bus attack, I haven’t met a single Liverpool fan who was either involved or thought it was acceptable. I don’t think it’s acceptable. But to be judged based on what the minority does is and always has been pretty dangerous thinking.

Ill give you an example. About 5 years ago a bunch of Chelsea fans booed during the Hillsborough minute of silence. Going by that, would it be fair if I concluded all Chelsea fans were like that? PSG could claim every single Chelsea fan was racist after that Paris train incident. Just making the point that idiots will exist in any fanbase, and it feels a bit harsh that I come on here just to see how city fans view the season and get all kinds of derogatory language because I support a direct rival that happens to be playing and doing well.

That’s fair enough, I’ve no issue with proper fans at all.

I used to work in Liverpool and all of the fans I worked with were always very complimentary of city even accepting you were nowhere near as good but always looked forward to giving us a game....This was 3 or 4 seasons ago.

I think the mentality and fatigue is what will let Liverpool down next season.

Don’t forget, we scored ridiculously high point totals for the past 2 seasons, whereas this is Liverpool’s second season looking as such.

There is also the added difficulty in retaining a PL title which only we have managed to do over the last decade.

If and it’s a big if, Liverpool win the PL this season and retain in next season, they will go down as the greatest PL side in history IMO. Assuming they will achieve 90+ points in the process.

If and if Liverpool did go back to back and win it twice, the small silver lining would be the piss boiling at the swamp and one Sir Taggert. Who trademarked cliches like ‘not in my lifetime’ and ‘knocking Liverpool off their perch’.

Liverpool are a nuisance at the moment and will be dealt with accordingly, never lose sight of who the real scummy twats are. They crawled out from under their rocks the other week like it was the 1990s again when they won a derby.

They’re both as bad as each other for me. With the media blowing smoke up their arses and entitled supporters sprouting shite.

That said, if I had to choose out of United or Liverpool to win the PL, it would be Liverpool every day of the week.

Fair point, we've won back to back league titles and this team deserves all the credit for that.
This season is the after effect of being at full pelt for two seasons, there was always going to be a dip and it's happened this year.
I still think there may be twists and turns still but they will have to be pretty huge swings.

Welcome to the forum.

The thing for me about Liverpool and its fans is they are incredibly self congratulatory it’s unreal. They just refuse to compliment anyone else on success. They seem to see it as a huge injustice that they didn’t win it and the only reason anyone else wins anything is due to “buying it”, “cheating”, “luck” or of course “oil money from humans rights abusing owners”. They literally haven’t got it in them to say “Well done”.

I heard a Liverpool fan the other day tell me that them beating Barcelona 4-0 last year was a much bigger moment in football than Aguero’s 93:20.

So here goes...I've been a long term lurker on here, but I joined today because I want to give you guys some advice that genuinely comes from a place of love. I'm a Birmingham fan, so the top of the prem is about as far away from my clubs interests as an ant copying the hunting tactics of a lion. First some background, I grew up in the era where Liverpool were the dominant team in football, and with a few family members supporting them, I always enjoyed watching them play.

I never liked united or Chelsea but loved that early 2000's Arsenal team. Then you guys came along, and you gave me hope that maybe at some point my club could get an investor and although it's doubtful we'd get one like yours, there would be a chance to propel us up the food chain and make us relevant. I identified with you guys seeing you struggle through the lower leagues and you easily became the team I'd always watch out for in the league. Then you got Pep (whose Barca team is probably the greatest I've ever seen), so city winning the league with 100 pts a season, playing the football of the gods for a decade until we get our house in order and rightfully rise to our birthright at the top of the league would have been the ideal scenario for me - and I'm sure most of you wouldn't have minded that either!

However, this forum is a poor reflection on city this year; the conspiracy theories flying around are, to an outsider, insane. I'm a member of a few footie forums, including a Liverpool one, and last year they were full of praise and admiration for the title-winning run you put together. It wasn't a bottle job - they finished with a points tally that only one team in English league history had bettered. Twice!

Football by it's very nature is cyclical, which is why united went 26 years without winning it, and liverpool are at 30. Your owners mean that cycle is no longer relevant to you, so you'll always be around that level. You'll win it far more regularly than any other club in my opinion. That's the point, you can't win it every single year, so learning how to not cry foul every time someone else has a better season is important.

Instead of drugs, var, media, any other Alex Jones-esque infowars bullshit conspiracy theories, don't lower yourselves to that level. Re-group next year and take it back, rather than it being everyone else's fault that you're going to lose it this year.

I know you're probably going to call me a red, if everything I've read on these pages over the last few weeks is anything to go by, but I genuinely want you guys to be better than you're being. Take that with the intended sincerity, or tell me to fuck off, it's up to you.
"Birmingham fan" eh?

Posting on the Liverpool thread.

Surely this post you've written should have gone in the Is the game bent thread?
