You’re in a definite minority in the game there, pal, but fair play. It’s the biggest prize in the game, going to a European Cup final is one of the best days of your footballing life - win or lose.

I am not sure I should comment as I have never seen my team in a champions league final, but I cant believe its better than the feeling I have had when we won the 10 trophies I have seen us win

Of course you can plan for the CL, every elite club in Europe has it and their domestic title at the heart of their strategy. You need some luck but you need that in a league too. More luck again because there are more games to be played there. Sometimes the best teams don’t win the CL for any number of reasons; injuries, bad luck, player mishaps etc. Football isn’t linear, it’s a mish mash of things thrown together at the same time. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
This post doesn't make any sense. You're claiming you need more luck to win a 38 game league than you do to win a knock out competition because it's got more games in it? That's ridiculous. The fewer games something involves, the more it comes down to luck, and the closer two teams are in terms of ability (as they are likely to be in the latter stages of the CL) the more luck plays a part.

What's classed as match going I go about 8 to 10 home games a season (600 mile round trip). Is that enough games to class myself as match going ?

I didn’t say there were any parameters, just interested to see who goes to the game, that’s all.

It's because 7/8 keepers have chucked the ball in for them,he is used to luck

Just for the record, having a great fitness coach or club doctor can definitely make a difference to how quickly players recover and manage their own fitness, but they make no difference to whether or not a player gets 6 months out with an ACL injury. That's entirely down to luck. They might have an effect on how quickly they come back and whether the injury breaks down again though.

Having said that, the top clubs can generally deal with one or two top players out (although most teams have one or two positions where it would be more of a problem) because the reality is that there's such a big gap between the top teams and the rest that one or two back up players shouldn't be the difference between winning and losing.

When the Littlewoods big business got involved that was all fair and above board, what they really mean is that when the playing field was somewhat levelled it became unfair for them.

The money pumped in by the Moores family, around 1960 was incredible for the time - Ian St. John was the second highest transfer fee paid in the UK in 1960 (I think)... doesn't seem so unsual, until you realise Liverpool were in the 2nd division back then, and had been for years, and hadn't looked like getting out of it!
Shankly spent massively - a lot of it on Scottish players that the press at the time dubbed "MacMercenaries"... hardly sounds like a club that did things 'the right way' does it?
The massive investment led to success on the field... sound familiar?
What we have done is nothing different to Liverpool, Arsenal, the Rags, Chelsea etc. etc., the only difference is that nowadays we have social media, that gives every nobhead a mouthpiece, and far too many who believe the bollocks that the "media" feed them without question.

Fair point. However your club doesn’t need to actively sell whereas our board encourage it. There’s a difference there. There’s rights and wrongs on both sides, it’s certainly not a black and white argument.

if the players did not want to move, the transfers would not occur. The clear conclusion is City have had more togetherness than other top teams which is the main reason we have won 4 titles in recent years (and several cups) - many of which have been very tight finishes.
