Channel hopping last night (can't remember which channel I stumbled on) and I find Dippers v The Arse. Needing a 2-0 win to nick the title at Anfield and they do it with a forerunner of 93:20. I must say I really enjoyed Thomas's 99th minute goal!
I was living in Woolwich at the time (prime Arsenal territory) and took an awful lot of stick that night. That said, I was in my then local and did get a few pints bought for me "out of sympathy" due to me sitting in the corner pale and broken.
Terrible at the time, but the bigger picture is that it is one of those things that make the game as wonderful and painful as it is.

I think there isn't anything that compares with football, that isn't a matter of life or death, that can screw the emotions as much. I remember my ERO telling me that City had clawed one back in that Harringay FAC game (3-0 down at HT and Nobrat sent off - I'm still working out who the bigger bastard was that night - Nobrat or Rob Styles!). I was still in a trough of despair when the second went in!

More appropriate.

I was a student in Liverpool at the time and was offered a spare ticket for the Kop. I thought why not, it’s not as if I’m ever likely to see City win the league in my lifetime ;). I don’t think they’d even contemplated not winning it - it was their destiny. Up there with Aguero and Wembley ‘99 in terms of football drama for me. A tiny part of me felt some sympathy for them given Hillsborough but mostly intense feelings of schadenfreude.

A spare ticket for the kop? I call bullshit. Everyone knows that it is impossible to get spares for there

The swiss ramble has on twitter explained the reason why Liverpool dont spend any money

Could any one explain what is the difference from us and Liverpool. We have similar revenue.

How come we and Chelsea can spend money and they not unless they get money from player sale .
@Prestwich_Blue could you explain the difference.
Are our owners still putting money into the club.

Their owner saddles them debt and takes money out ,our owner hasn't put money in for a long time, tested and cleared by cas , our money goes back into the squad, khaldoon put it right when he said we are not responsible for clubs that are badly managed, it they followed our model they wouldnt be heavily in debt
