If I was playing now and a player did that they’d get a swift ankle stamp to make sure they are screaming. I just can’t see how anyone can defend this, if our players do it I think it’s disgraceful, Sterling is the only one who comes close and he is nowhere near this level.

I remember Yaya diving in the North Stand end and the City supporters (including me) booing him.

Do you think players that cheat enjoy football ?

If you love your job (football) why would you want to bring the game down ?

Why doesnt the PFA take action against the members who are cheating against their fellow members, costing them win bonuses and perhaps their standing within that league ?
A union should be looking out for its members by stopping or expelling members who dont represent the union values.

I am glad I am to old to play now because if I was I would get sent off every game if a player did a Salah against me.

I noticed the subtle distraction technique of shifting the spotlight onto Masuaka (?). Basically saying he was foolish and stupid for initiating contacting with Salah's boot. Concentrate on that for long enough and you don't have enough time or column space to talk about the diving, cheating Egyptian who has made this an integral part of his (and Liverpool's) game under Klopp. Time for a pundit with enough balls to call this out for what it is.

We're heading towards football becoming a non contact sport, primarily because of players cheating, referees allowing it and pundits condoning it. Defenders are unable to defend inside their own penalty area simply because 'defending' means they will inevitably initiate some degree of contact and concede a penalty. It was noticeable yesterday that Cancelo has adopted the 'hands behind the back' technique of defending as protection against a handball offence. This leaves him completely immobile and not only doesn't prevent the cross but allows the attacker the chance to go past him with ease.

I think the defender deserves much criticism. The attacker has his back to goal, has not got it under control, and the idiot takes a swing with his hoof. It is disastrous defending.

And , no I am not supporting Salahs previous dives, just pointing out to those who think Salah, Vardy, or Sterling invented penalty winning. It has been around forever.

But VAR would have ruled all his out. Salah (and Mane) just dive with impunity as they get most of them but get no punishment on the odd occasion a penalty isn’t awarded. No risk but massive reward, so who can blame them, I suppose.
Perhaps West Ham should write a letter......

Nor did l but our old friend the media sowed and cultivated that myth.
There was hardly any football on tv in those days 50 years ago. People should looks at the clip at Newcastle - they won't even spot his name.

That’s not true.

The season that Frannie scored a record number of penalties, only four were awarded for fouls on him.

Around that time, Italians were the biggest culprits.

If it was one of our players it would be on repeat on Sky Sports news and discussed all week in the media to put pressure on the ref ahead of the game next weekend. As it's them it won't be.

On Sky yesterday was spit commentating, Dogleashes daughter presenting & Souness as pundit, all with Liverpool connections. It's the same for rags games. They both get treated completely differently in the media than everyone else. Look at the outcry after the Everton game. Anyone saying there is no agenda is blind.

They get treated differently by refs & VAR too. One of the commentators on the rags game a few weeks ago said with glee how the rags had a PL record number of pens last season.
