IIRC, Hillsborough was taken off the semi-final roster after that 1981 incident for 6 years and they insisted on Sheffield Wednesday making safety improvements before it could be considered as a semi-final venue again. Unfortunately, those improvements involved making the terrace into 5 individual pens and although those pens had gates in the fences leading to the other pens, bizarrely it turned the Leppings Lane into an even bigger death-trap than it was previously ffs!
 
Just in case anyone missed it yesterday and would like to share it with dipper fans now they are back in their company at work ;)

Fans obviously got in without tickets or with forged tickets, who else was sitting on the stairs & stairwells because they didn't have a seat ?

Social media was awash long before the match with
Liverpool fans Asking for fake tickets
Liverpool fans Offering fake tickets
Liverpool fans Discussing security
Liverpool fans Asking about French police bahaviour

social media was awash during the delay with
Liverpool Fans posting about jibbing in
Liverpool Fans rushing barriers
Liverpool Fans climbing fences

social media was awash during match with
RM end, completely full with all seats taken and no one outside ground
Liverpool end, all seats, gangways, walkways overflowing and many thousands outside complaining about not getting in

during and after match media was awash with
Ex Liverpool players and uk media acolytes blaming heavy handed police, French youth and anything that wasn’t Liverpool fans
French media and French govt squarely laying the issues at the door of Liverpool fans attempting to use fake tickets or breaking in

conclusion : as predicted by every non Liverpool fan and his dog, Liverpool fans caused the issues, media prostated themselves to absolve them, and they all finish off by Claiming they are the victims in it all.
Edit: and no Liverpool supporter/media/celeb stands up and utters the blindingly obvious factual truth

This really. Whilst I'm happy for it all to be Liverpool's fans fault, we (more than anyone) know you can't trust a word of what UEFA says. UEFA is dong what UEFA always does- blaming everyone except themselves. As evidence I would point to the fact that the UEFA's explanation has changed several times already.

The truth is in there somewhere. Probably a mixture of issues.
