To be fair to Liverpool, they consistently manage to sign top quality players for relatively cheap fees. Fabinho, Thiago, Jota, Firmino, Mane, Salah all signed for between 20-40m. It's only really Alisson and Van Dijk that they've paid top dollar for. As much as I dislike them, they're pretty shrewd in the transfer market.

But Liverpool don't operate with a central striker like Kane or Lewandowski either and it seems to work for them as well.

I see Elliott is being hyped up massively by the media ( no surprise there), but when I have seen him he has not overly impressed.

Each to their own, but I thought he was the biz. I was thinking that the English national team had some hope when these young guys (from various teams) develop and mature.
