Are the away tickets at the Etihad the print at home type with a 3D barcode on them? Wondering the same for the CL final. If so, it would be very easy to churn out a load of course of the same genuine ticket. Anytime it was scanned, it would show up as genuine. Right up to the gate, where the first one lets you in and every subsequent one gets rejected as already having been used.

Did wonder for the CL final how many had posted a photo of their ticket on social media, as again would be very easy to be used by someone else if it's just the barcode required by the turnstile.

Looks like someone is running an extremely successful and potentially dangerous business turning out fakes for high profile games and probably not just for them. Maybe when the turnstiles register the correct number of fans that have passed through the turnstiles then they are locked and nobody else is allowed in. Those with genuine tickets would soon start to get pissed off. Then all fans inside the ground can have their tickets checked and arrested. Would take a huge effort but even if the message gets out there that this is what is going to happen it might make them think twice. City should incorporate some new security in the tickets for next year just for the Liverpool game and only send the tickets to them a week before the game or even better, they must be picked up in person.

Makes you wonder why they refused electronic tickets for the game and if they are in some way in cahoots with it all. I wouldn't put it passed this lot.

Why can't this be stopped especially inside the perimeter of the ground just before we go in??

Have a security contact who told me BEFORE the Champions League final there had been major problems before our game against Liverpool at the Etihad.

Scores of high quality counterfeit tickets for their end which resulted in confiscations and fans missing the start.

Uefa could do a lot worse than ask City for their observations that day.

Wasn't there trouble with the Fa cup semi final when loads of their fans tried to storm our end?

I don’t recall them trying to storm our end, there was some twat on Twitter trying to organise taking over a block, possibly 520, of course it never happened. But their end was obviously overfull, there were no aisles visible behind the goal, and it was the same for the final against Chelsea. They are either doubling up, which I’ve seen done at Wembley, or are using fake tickets, or some other method of jibbing in. It will no doubt continue until there is another serious incident, which won’t be their fault.

In Compo City l think they speak the Sue language.
About 30 - 40 years ago there was a programme called 'Suing the Corpy' which was about the large amounts the council was having to set aside for Compo claims many of them totally false. They interviewed many people what they thought of their local taxes being used on dodgy claims. There was almost universal approval even by two posh ladies from the Wirral or Formby. Liverpool Corporation was redesignated as a council in1972 so it goes back a long long time.
The most common occupation in Merseyside is 'Claimant'.
