Recount…
Its my generous nature ;-)
Recount…
Lose the ‘o’.Recount…
I was wondering if any of my fellow Evertonians on here would mention the trouble our fans had in Lille during the Martinez years. I wasn't there but I remember people on Grand Old Team posting some real horror stories about the French police kicking off.
On another note, I'm learning Italian at the moment and I've just been given the sentence 'c'è il rischio che la squadra perda' ('there is the risk that the squad loses/will lose'). Made me think of Liverpool and Ancelotti.
You sound like you used to edit The Sun.Some of us on here Know the truth Dukenfield was hung out to dry
You might need to translate this into Norwegian if you want a reply ;)Not scrolled back so maybe you have already commented but whats your view on what happened saturday night? Being honest.
and also are you a scouse liverpool fan or an out of towner?
I believe one of the failings of SYP were the opening of the turnstiles and gates.Hillsborough has been investigated more than any other tragedy and trying to re-apportion blame based on points that will have been thoroughly reviewed and at odds with the conclusion of numerous independent reports is just wrong. Whilst undoubtedly there was poor behaviour from some at that match like at any other match ever, it has long since been accepted that it was not a contributory factor. The fact that you can't accept that zero blame was apportioned to their fans means that you're wilfully ignoring all the evidence of major failings by SYP and the stadium management who were finally forced to accept full responsibility. There's no shortage of bad behaviour by dippers in lots of other situations where they can be legitimately criticised but you should leave Hillsborough out of it because of the weight of evidence that was amassed that disproves that point.
NI see they’ve produced a questionnaire now for their “fans”…
Q1: Did you have a ticket…Y/N
Q2: Was it real or fake…Real/Fake
So far all I’ve seen is fans, including kids getting pepper sprayed for not much reason and a video of some locals battling the police. But being honest I’ve no idea as wasn’t there. But mates who were have said it was bad. There 2 hours early but closed gates on them then told genuine tickets were fakes. Not scrolled back so maybe you have already commented but whats your view on what happened saturday night? Being honest.

That's an incredible number. Needs investigation on how they got hold of them, were the tickets copies or designed from a leaked template etc? If there's enough pressure, ironically from Liverpool themselves demanding an investigation, then we may find out more from the french as they won't want to be labelled as at fault.
Could be that UEFA's own personnel it their sponsors willingly or unknowingly gave this info to people capable of using it to create the fakes.
It's another example of Liverpool fans going over the top, and likely not being pulled up on it again. They'll wreck a bus to gain a competitive advantage, hack databases, jib in knowing other genuine fans either lose out or are at risk of injury...it's the mindset of the moronic and they've excelled at it for decades

So with an allocation of 19,618 tickets 62,000 dippers holding tickets attempted to enter the stadium..Following extract from the Guardian. Just let this sink in.
About 70% of tickets presented by about 62,000 Liverpool fans were fake, the French interior minister said, and whereas 97% of Real Madrid fans had made it to their seats by the original 9pm kick-off time, only 50% of Liverpool supporters had reached their stands by then. Liverpool received an allocation of 19,618 tickets.
“Manifestly, this kind of incident only seems to happen with certain English clubs,” Darmanin said, noting that there had been difficulties at the Liverpool-Tottenham Champions League final in Madrid in 2019 and at matches at Wembley.
So if I understand correctly, the Police were right to have the gates opened ,because there was plenty of room on the stand? How were the fans funnelled? Or was It the fans that caused the problem by all making for closest entrance.Good post. The tragedy at Hillsborough was caused by too many people being funelled into one pen. There was plenty of space in other nearby sections. The total capacity of the stand was not exceeded. There has never been any evidence of significant problems with ticketess fans at that match.
How about real fakes ?Bit harsh labelling Liverpool as fake!
I think it has never been disputed by anyone that opening the gates was a mistake. If you know Hillsborough it was the nearest tunnel to the gate that they all went down it and that's what caused most of the crush. As has been said before, the stadium was a death-trap without even a safety licence. It was always dangerous in the Lepping Lane before it became all-seated.So if I understand correctly, the Police were right to have the gates opened ,because there was plenty of room on the stand? How were the fans funnelled? Or was It the fans that caused the problem by all making for closest entrance.
Shame they didn't call you as an expert witness to the independent inquiry then isn't it? Bit like all those Liverpool fans who know all about our finances and never got called by CAS.Some of us on here Know the truth Dukenfield was hung out to dry
Well said. It also serves to undermine warranted criticism of their actual reprehensible conduct as it allows them to deploy Hillsborough as a shield.Hillsborough has been investigated more than any other tragedy and trying to re-apportion blame based on points that will have been thoroughly reviewed and at odds with the conclusion of numerous independent reports is just wrong.
