The midfield isn’t involved that much the way they play. They go front to back quick with long diagonals and fullbacks bombing forward. The midfield three generally protect the gaps those fullbacks leave. It’s not long ball as such but they don’t creat much from midfield.For whatever reason he must think there is more chance of fatigue/ injuries affecting the front three than old age catching up with Henderson/ milner etc this side of April.
