People have loved ones who have given their lives for their country, the anthem means a lot to many different people.

Again, and I don't mean this to be deliberately flippant or disrespectful to you yourself @cheekybids , the anthem also holds a lot of resentment to many people who have felt oppressed or otherwise. We hold an annual minutes silence to those who've given their lives to the country every November. This wasn't about that and the booing at Anfield wasn't about disrespecting that.

We need to draw the line and it comes at being bewildered when residents of other countries (North Korea) are regularly seen on video demonstrating their unanimous support for their supreme leader to us being expected to do the same here.

Not really arsed that they booed the anthem. Irks me a bit that Sky were too scared to even mention it though.
why.....anthems shouldn't be anywhere near domestic football = no problems then. i also think like Billy Connolly our anthem is sh*t such as dirge

I agree it does for many but all they had to do was show a bit of respect like they demand from others. It’s a new thing, they don’t know why & as usual you hear how Liverpool was treated or Hillsborough, both are nonsense.
The anthem is more than just a song about the king which is why every nation on the planet has theirs. They are played to signify celebration & loss.

They might also remember whilst the media condemned their fans, Charles & his wife were visiting hospitals in Sheffield.

You don’t, you live in a monarchy. You are a subject. I can’t fathom how people can’t understand that’s the terms of living in England. It’s not a democracy it’s a monarchy.

Anyways, after today certain players should never be selected for England again and Henderson comes out of it looking decent unlike the rest of their stadium. Typical of them really.
Tony Cascarino famously didn't even know the Irish tune let alonw words... ..yet played his heart out for the team

Awww bless, maybe there's not a lot of difference between blue and red dippers.

Scouse not English ehh?
Oh trust me, plenty of Everton fans are republicans as well. I am.

We boo everything though.

ETA: I posted on my Tumblr, tagged as ‘Everton’, to ask how Everton fans felt about the Scouse Not English thing and I had Liverpool fans in my replies. It’s not about you and I’m not asking you. I KNOW why you all hate the king. I KNOW. It’s my own people I’m talking to and also, you’re not Irish, you’re English. Deal. Loads of Mancs are of Irish descent and they don’t act like they’re Irish.
