There was a love fest on talksport yesterday evening about Salah's new deal - how great it was for the club and the player and how they can go on and improve on last season when they won two trophies and only failed narrowly at the last hurdle in two others. All very positive (albeit of no or little interest to fans of any other club bar the dippers).
The debate was a dipper love in. The next topic up was definitely not so positive for the club concerned i.e. if Manchester City fail to win the Champions League next year will their season have been a failure?
I didn't bother to carry on listening.

I think we're missing the point that Salah's "new Liverpool deal goes beyond football", as the BBC points out, because of Salah's religious observance following every goal and his kindness to animals! FSG apparently see greater benefit from the team's prophet than the club's profit.

So to sum up , what your saying is ...it means more !

Not sure how serious my post is?

Ok then explain exactly what you know which confirms liverpools wage structure is delicate and in what way is it delicate?

Quite possibly causing player unrest? Again what do you know about the individual players, their attitudes to wages differences, to believe it will cause unrest.

I presume you think Haalands wages may effect our delicate wage structure and potentially cause player unrest also?

I think Diaz will have benefitted from the previous 6 months and they have brought a decent striker in to replace Firmino who’s star seems to be fading and a kid from Fulham who looks very talented.

Mane I agree is a big loss but they seem to have a lot of forward options now with Nunez, Salah resigning, Diaz, Jota and Firmino as back up, for years they relied on the same three and last year never really had a main striker. For the record when I said a lot stronger that was in the context of the possibility of him leaving, but probably poorly worded on my behalf.
If you need any help with words, Frank, then feel free to PM me.

I was referring to your comment about us paying a 30 year-old comparable wages to Salah.

I think Liverpool have had the best out of Salah and should have sold him, it's a different ball game for a midfielder of KDB standards, I even think city offered that amount and not the player holding the club to ransom

It’s not as straightforward as that. He’ll decline in a couple of years, just like Sergio did, but they’ll still get a couple of years out of him as a top striker. To suggest otherwise is allowing hope to triumph over reality. The third year will be viewed by the club as the trade off for the first two, as he wasn’t going to sign for only two imo.

Oh aye - just watch out as the season approaches the dippers will have had the best transfer window in the history of football
