At the risk of getting a ban for defending Liverpool...

The people and fans of a certain club aside, Liverpool as a place has some lovely bars, venues and cultural attractions.

Saying it has no galleries of note when it's home to the excellent Tate, FACT and Bluecoat galleries is ridiculous and the city has a right to point this out. It has a better contemporary art scene than Manchester. Probably the best in the country outside of London.
