Dippers trying to make out like Nunez did something amazing. He scored and it was a decent goal but its laid on a plate for him. He also completely fluffed an identical situation just prior to the goal trying the same flick when he could easily have put his foot through the ball with a bit of spin and buried it and just before that he had a glorious chance that he could have buried or laid off for a tap in and he did neither, passing to the only defender in his way instead. Then for their second, he totally balls'd up a simple touch and finish, very fortunate Salah was also there.

So yeah he scored one but its no exaggeration to say he should have scored 4 in the short time he was on the pitch. I guarantee Mane bangs in those chances and Liverpool somehow win that game 3-2. He's going to score a lot of goals because of liverpools relentless percentage football of cross after cross but he's not on the level of Mane and that's already cost them points.
It was a shocking finish for the goal. Cocked one up just before. Didnt learn from it, did exactly the same thing again but got lucky as the defenders clearance hit him and went in. You wont see a flukier goal all season. The “assist” was a bad first touch that luckily went straight to Salah.

Sterling type level stuff

I read that Nunez inspired their comeback and scores one and made the other. That is exactly how this works - that description is so desperate, so loosely based on truth, it is sickening: how the hell did he 'make' their second?

EDIT - I actually just read that their second came from 'Nunez's magic touch'.

Nunez looks full of emotion. He will either calm down and be a good signing or he will get mopey and stay an impact player off the bench. A lucky striker is better than a decent striker though and he will probably win them plenty of points and plaudits by running around like an excited puppy and trying crazy stuff. In that respect he suits Liverpool and he will always be fun to watch as he is likely to do something mad at any moment. I vote him most likely to knock himself out by running into a goal post

Diaz I'm hoping turns out to be a myth. Their left hand side is the most slappable in the league

Messaged my mate (on the wind up) to ask him if Plopp really complained about ‘a dry pitch’ his reply “he only mentioned it” I said “so if you win next week and it’s raining” ? still waiting for a reply
