Classy cunts, as per...

The Club statement sums them up.

Explaining away their excuses, under freedom of speech, yet the first to go after those who express such sentiments towards that anal swab.
It’s not just that mate. It’s also the fact that they appropriate the words to a song, in order to be offended, and then call for singing that song to be prohibited.

That is a wholly egregious assault on freedom of speech, because it is telling others what their words mean.

Hypocritical cunts.

The amount of times I have been forced to sit in church for a wedding or funeral, and listen to people herald God or cite the Lord's Prayer.

Guess what, I keep my fucking mouth shut out of respect for those people it means something to, even if I think it's a load of bullshit.

Sure, I could bring attention to myself by stating my belief God doesn't exist and religion has caused more deaths than most.

However, I have been brought up if you haven't anything nice to say or contribute, then keep your mouth shut and respect those people who have a different perspective.

Scouse scum couldn't even keep it shut for a woman who gave her entire life over to service when she died.

Yesterday was an incredible moment in history to witness, something to take pride in, even if you don't subscribe.

And spare me the PR spin from the Scouse media about freedom of speech and Merseyside oppression.

The majority of that Anfield crowd probably aren't even from Merseyside, a City that voted a Conservative council and counted Michael fucking Hesseltine as its biggest champion.

Where's my Mace?

I want liverpool to finish higher than united
I want spurs to finish higher than liverpool
I want united to finish higher than spurs

I don't know what I want.

That was exactly me mate, I’ve no interest generally either way in the Monarchy and just caught a bit of it, ended up watching far more than I ever imagined I would and began thinking what an historical occasion/event it was and to witness part of it.

Why would anyone take pride in something to which they don't subscribe?

For me, because it remains part of the identity of this country which can be traced back over a thousand years.

You can't choose your family, nor the place you are born, but you can still find pride in all that it stands for and the many components that make this country a place to live in which many people die trying to get here.

Just had a look at their national anthem thread on RAWK.
Collectively they are proud of what they did yesterday.

One gets the feeling that if they saw a Royal inside a football stadium, their tradition of murder at such venues would continue.

What a vile, despicable club it really is. And for any lurkers, you are fucking hated!

I think Liverpool fans are entitled to protest about a song where the words and the meaning behind them are unambiguous, namely to reinforce the supremacy of a hereditary position (and system) which represents the beating heart of the establishment (that they feel aggrieved by). I think it would be very difficult to argue (in broad terms) against that being what the words to our national anthem represent, for better or worse. On that basis their protest is based upon a sound factual footing.

What they aren’t entitled to do, is take the far more ambiguous words to another song and ascribe their own interpretation upon it and treat that interpretation as a matter of absolute fact (which is echoed in the media) and then be offended by it. Which is precisely what they do with the ‘always the victims’ ditty. That is wholly different, because it is telling others what the ambiguous words to a song mean, in order to be offended by it.

There are blues on this thread that are failing to appreciate that the latter has given rise to other poster’s feelings on the former, especially given the associated hypocrisy and the inconsistent press coverage of each matter.
If that was the case, why are the dippers booing GSTK seeing as its several governments that are at fault.

Im the same, I take nothing from the royal family - neither pride nor distain - but I respectfully keep my mouth shut for those who do.

My dad was in the military for over 25 years and in his mind he fought for his queen - how can I not at least keep my thoughts to myself when appropriate and respect ppl like that, who put their lives on the line for us.
